  3. This is the README.TXT file for SimFero.

  5. REGISTRATION
  6. ------------
  7. SimFero is not free software.  It is released as shareware,
  8. which provides the opportunity for the game to be evaluated
  9. before it is purchased. We hope that when you try SimFero you
  10. will like it so much that you will want to register. Complete
  11. information on how to register SimFero is included in the
  12. REGISTER.RTF file.
  13.  
  14. SOFTWARE LICENSE
  15. ----------------
  16.  Non-licensed users are granted a limited license to use
  17.  SimFero on a 21-day trial basis for the purpose of
  18.  determining whether SimFero is suitable for their needs.
  19.  The use of SimFero, except for the initial 21-day trial,
  20.  requires registration.  The use of unlicensed copies of 
  21.  SimFero, outside of the initial 21-day trial, by any person,
  22.  business, corporation, government agency or any other entity
  23.  is strictly prohibited.

  25.  No one may modify or patch the SimFero executable file in
  26.  any way, including but not limited to decompiling,
  27.  disassembling, or otherwise reverse engineering the
  28.  program.

  30.  A limited license is granted to copy and distribute
  31.  SimFero only for the trial use of others, subject to the
  32.  above limitations, and also the following:
  33.  
  34.   1)    SimFero and all of its release files must be copied in
  35.         unmodified form, complete with the file containing
  36.         this license information.
  37.  
  38.   2)    No fee, charge, or other compensation may be requested
  39.         or accepted, except as authorized below:
  40.  
  41.         A) Operators of electronic bulletin board systems
  42.            (sysops) may make SimFero available for down-
  43.            loading only as long as the above conditions are
  44.            met.  An overall or time-dependent charge for the
  45.            use of the bulletin board system is permitted as
  46.            long as there is not a specific charge for the
  47.            download of SimFero.

  49.          B) Vendors of user-supported or shareware software
  50.            approved by the ASP may distribute SimFero, subject
  51.            to the above conditions, without specific permission.
  52.            Non-approved vendors may distribute SimFero only
  53.        after obtaining written permission.
  54.  
  55.         C) Non-profit user groups may distribute copies of
  56.            the SimFero diskette to their members, subject to the
  57.        above conditions, without specific permission.
  58.        Non-profit groups may collect a disk duplication fee
  59.        not to exceed three dollars.
