- What's new in version 2.0
-
- - Added 2 new blocks to the game. They will not show up as often as
- the regular blocks (although at times it may seem that they do).
- The blocks are designed to add a bit of frustration to the game as
- they almost never fit neatly in with the other blocks on the
- screen.
-
- - Added a bomb to the game. When the bomb is played it will destroy
- all the blocks in it's radius. Sometimes this is a good thing,
- sometimes not. It depends on where you place it. The bomb will
- not come up as often as the other blocks (after all, can't make it
- TOO easy).
-
- - Added the ability to set the number of days to retain players
- records in the database. This will allow you to run either the
- standalone packing program or the game as a ghost event to pack the
- database. Users who haven't played the game within the set number
- of days will be removed from the player database. The default is
- set to 30 days.
-
- - Added an option that will allow you to decide how the game will run
- on your system. The default mode is what is known as "resource
- intensive". Some people have reported problems with the game loading
- their system down. Sometimes this can be circumvented by running
- the program from a RAM drive. This option will allow you to turn
- off the feature that makes the program so CPU/Disk intensive. With
- this turned off the variable speeds in the program will no longer
- work and the blocks will all fall at one of 2 speeds. One speed
- when they are dropping on their own and another when they are being
- "fast dropped" into place. The default is to have the variable
- speed on (i.e. resource intensive mode).
-
- - Added the ability to restrict the number of users in the game at
- any time. With this option in place you could have the program in
- resource intensive mode but only allow 2 people to play the game at
- a time. The default is to allow all users in the game. The sysop
- (privilege 255) will always have access to the game no matter how
- many users are in the game (you might, however, be blocking someone
- else from entering the game.
-
- - Included a program that will take your current configuration and
- convert it to the new configuration so that you don't loose any of
- your current game settings.
-
- - Included a program to run offline during an external event that
- will remove users from the player database and pack the database.
- This can also be done from a ghost event.
