- What is the purpose of program CHESSRP3?
-
- Over the years, thousands of championship CHESS games have been recorded
- in writing so we, the new generation of CHESS players can learn from the
- masters.
-
- How do we learn from them? We have no choice, but to set up a CHESS
- board and play the game from the notes.
-
- The value of replaying these games is undeniable and most of we CHESS
- players have at one time or another pursued this learning experience.
- But most must agree that this approach is cumbersome and that some of
- the learning value is lost in having to continuously refer to the
- paper for the next move.
-
- The solution to this problem is to have a PC program that is able to
- 'read' CHESS MOVES as they appear on paper and transfer the moves to a
- PC display. Program CHESSRP3 is that program. CHESSRP3 will not only
- make all the moves, it can also play the moves in reverse which helps
- the player to better see how certain positions developed.
-
- Invoke program CHESSRP3 then give as the first instruction a question
- mark '?' and the program will list all the precoded MOVES files in the
- directory. Select any file by name and play it. Create your own MOVES
- files with a standard EDITOR, exchange MOVES files with your friends and
- build a sizable CHESS games library. Use the handy on-line directory
- viewing file to distinguish between the files you own - it is all here.
-
- With CHESSRP3 you can also randomly set up a CHESS board and then code
- MOVES to play from that point on. To use CHESSRP3 is easy, all the
- instructions on how to use the program are accessible from the primary
- menu. The playing board is presented in pleasant colors. A VGA color
- monitor is required to use this program.
