  6.     The Ferengi quickly takes in the temperature of the 
  7.     room, then warily approaches Sisko.

  10.             Sorry to interrupt, but I have 
  11.             something for you.

  13.     With a hint of trepidation, he holds up the box.
  14.  
  15.                     QUARK

  17.                 (how to put it?) 
  18.             -- item you ordered.
  19.  
  20.     Sisko had forgotten all about it, and whatever it is 
  21.     has suddenly darkened his mood even more. He takes 
  22.     the box from Quark, stares down at it.
  23.  
  24.     He slowly OPENS the box, revealing a DIAMOND WEDDING 
  25.     RING. The thought that he'll never put it on 
  26.     Kasidy's finger pierces Sisko's heart.
  27.  
  28.                     QUARK
  29.                 (awkwardly) 
  30.             Terellian diamonds aren't easy to 
  31.             come by, especially with this war 
  32.             on. Needless to say, it was non-
  33.             refundable.
  34.  
  35.     Sisko nods vaguely.

  37.                     SISKO
  38.             Thanks, Quark.

  40.     Quark nods and starts toward the door. He hesitates 
  41.     for a moment, then turns back to face Sisko.

  43.                     QUARK 
  44.             Seems a shame to let something so 
  45.             beautiful go to waste...
  46.  
  47.     With a meaningful look Sisko's way, Quark EXITS. 
  48.     Sisko stares at the diamond for a long moment, then 
  49.     CLOSES the box.
  50.  
  51.     He moves to the window and looks out at the stars, 
  52.     trying to reconcile himself with the decision he's 
  53.     made. Off his conflicted countenance...
