  9.             The Pah-wraiths have forgiven my
  10.             sins. They've given me their
  11.             absolution.

  13.     A chorus of angry shouts greets Dukat's admission --
  14.  
  15. 86   DUKAT (OPTICAL)
  16.  
  17.     as a storm of capsules rains down on him, thrown by
  18.     the crowd.
  19.  
  20.                     DUKAT
  21.                 (anger flaring)
  22.             Who are you to presume they're
  23.             wrong? Who are you to judge me?
  24.  
  25.     But Dukat is shouting into the wind -- the crowd has
  26.     turned on him once and for all.
  27.  
  28.                     DUKAT
  29.                 (enraged)
  30.             Then it's done. Our Covenant is
  31.             broken.
  32.  
  33.     Dukat tears the EARRING from his ear -- we see a dab
  34.     of BLOOD start to form in the torn skin.
  35.  
  36.                     DUKAT
  37.             None of you will ever know the
  38.             love of the Pah-wraiths. None of
  39.             you!
  40.  
  41.     And with a last look of bitter disappointment their
  42.     way, Dukat touches his wrist and DEMATERIALIZES in a
  43.     Dominion transporter effect.
  44.  
  45.     A hush falls over the crowd as their anger gives way
  46.     to stunned silence.
  47.  
  48.     People move to comfort each other. Some fall to
  49.     their knees in prayer, asking for guidance.
  50.  
  51.     Kira sees Fala sobbing quietly by himself, shattered
  52.     by what's happened. He reaches his hand toward his
  53.     mouth and she realizes he's holding a capsule in it.
  54.  
  55.                     KIRA
  56.             Fala, no.
  57.  
  58.     She pushes past people to get to him, but it's too
  59.     late -- he's swallowed it.
