  16. 23   INT. SISKO'S BEDROOM

  18.     Sisko's lying on his bed in his nightshirt. He shifts 
  19.     position, unable to sleep.
  20.  
  21. 24   INT. SCIENCE LAB (OPTICAL) 
  22.  
  23.     as Sisko ENTERS the darkened room. The tablet sits on 
  24.     the examining table, bathed in the light from the 
  25.     overhead cowl. Sisko approaches it, his eyes searching 
  26.     it for some hidden meaning. He reaches out and touches 
  27.     it, half hoping to be thrown into another vision. 
  28.     Nothing. After a beat --
  29.  
  30.                     SISKO
  31.                 (softly) 
  32.             Why do you always have to be so 
  33.             damn mysterious?
  34.  
  35.     Sisko turns away, addresses the room at large, the 
  36.     unseen Prophets.
  37.  
  38.                     SISKO
  39.             Answer me! I'm tired of your 
  40.             riddles. If you need me to do 
  41.             something, say so.
  42.  
  43.     Silence. Driven by some instinct he doesn't
  44.     understand, Sisko turns and takes hold of the tablet.
  45.     Without hesitation, without questioning what he's
  46.     doing, he lifts it over his head and SMASHES it on the
  47.     ground.
  48.  
  49.     Only then, when it lies on the floor SHATTERED, does 
  50.     the instinct that compelled him to act pass from his 
  51.     features.
