  8.             I know she's the spiritual leader 
  9.             of millions of Bajorans, but she's 
  10.             not an easy woman to like.

  13.             If it's any comfort, I don't think 
  14.             she likes you, either.

  16.                     SISKO
  17.             I've known that for a while.
  18.                 (a beat) 
  19.             Maybe I should've consulted her 
  20.             before I brought the artifact up 
  21.             to the station.

  23.                     KIRA 
  24.             She would've tried to stop you.

  26.     Sisko thinks about it for a moment.

  29.                 (smiling) 
  30.             I guess that's why I didn't ask 
  31.             her.

  33.     Kira returns the smile, but we can see that there's 
  34.     more on her mind.

  36.                     KIRA 
  37.             In a way, I feel sorry for her. 
  38.             She spends her whole life in the 
  39.             service of the Prophets. And then 
  40.             one day, after all the years of 
  41.             personal sacrifice and commitment, 
  42.             she's given her reward. She's 
  43.             elected Kai. It should've been 
  44.             the greatest moment of her life.

  47.                 (seeing where Kira is 
  48.                 going) 
  49.             But my being Emissary spoiled it 
  50.             for her.

  52.                     KIRA 
  53.             The Kai has always been the 
  54.             spiritual leader of Bajor. But 
  55.             Winn has to share that role with 
  56.             you. And what makes matters worse 
  57.             is you're an outsider -- a non-
  58.             Bajoran. That's something she'll 
  59.             never forgive you for.
