  8.             a formal protest.

  11.             Is that why Admiral Ross wanted to 
  12.             talk to you?

  14.     Sisko nods glumly --

  16.                     DAX 
  17.             So how'd it go?

  19.                     SISKO
  20.             He told me to stop meddling in 
  21.             Bajoran affairs and return the 
  22.             damn tablet.

  24.                     DAX
  25.             You know how Starfleet feels about 
  26.             "this Emissary thing." It makes 
  27.             them very uncomfortable that 
  28.             you've allowed the Bajorans to 
  29.             view you as a religious icon.
  30.                 (testing the waters) 
  31.             It used to make you uncomfortable, 
  32.             too.
  33.  
  34.     Sisko considers, then decides to make his feelings
  35.     known to his old friend.
  36.  
  37.                     SISKO
  38.             Not anymore.
  39.                 (smiling) 
  40.             I guess the Prophets have spoken 
  41.             to me too many times.

  44.                 (looking up from her work) 
  45.             I remember when you used to call 
  46.             them "Wormhole Aliens."
  47.  
  48.                     SISKO
  49.             Wormhole Aliens or Prophets -- it 
  50.             doesn't really matter. The fact 
  51.             is, they exist outside of time, 
  52.             and over the centuries, they've 
  53.             given the Bajorans glimpses of the 
  54.             future.
  55.                 (indicating the tablet) 
  56.             Glimpses that the Bajorans wrote 
  57.             down to help guide succeeding 
  58.             generations.
