  6.     It's a very intimate moment and Dax does nothing to 
  7.     break it. She snuggles up closer to him. The first 
  8.     HOWL returns, but now it's coming from a new direction, 
  9.     and the pitch has changed slightly.
  10.  
  11.                     DAX 
  12.             He's moving off. Must've been 
  13.             rejected.
  14.  
  15.     The second HOWL now sounds, then CHANGES to something 
  16.     more like a GROWL.
  17.  
  18.                     DAX
  19.         She doesn't sound happy.
  20.  
  21.     Worf suddenly sits up, completely alert. The two HOWLS 
  22.     are now going together. His sudden change of attitude 
  23.     puts Dax on guard.
  24.  
  25.                     DAX 
  26.             What? They're getting farther 
  27.             away, aren't they?
  28.  
  29.                     WORF 
  30.             Yes. But that's because something 
  31.             else is coming. 
  32.                 (beat) 
  33.             And it's close.
  34.  
  35.     They leap into action -- grabbing packs, sleeping 
  36.     rolls, rifles and the tiny heater before plunging into 
  37.     the dense bushes surrounding the clearing.
  38.  
  39. 36   DAX & WORF
  40.  
  41.     hunker down in the bushes, rifles at the ready and 
  42.     their gear at their feet. They both strain to hear and 
  43.     see in the dark night. There's a long, agonizing 
  44.     moment of silence as they wait.
  45.  
  46. 37   THEIR POV OF THE CLEARING
  47.  
  48.     which is silent. Nothing moves for a long time... then 
  49.     there's a RUSTLING SOUND.

  51. 38   DAX & WORF

  53.     react to the sound and peer through the bushes...
