  8.             is getting ridiculous. How much 
  9.             longer are we going to have to put 
  10.             up with these malfunctions?

  12.     Sisko studies Bashir for a beat, sensing that there's 
  13.     more going on here than he's letting on.
  14.  
  15.                     SISKO 
  16.             You know, it wouldn't surprise me 
  17.             if Major Kira or Commander Worf 
  18.             came in here demanding answers. 
  19.             But you? It's not your style.
  20.  
  21.                     BASHIR
  22.             Apparently it is. Here I am.
  23.  
  24.     But Sisko knows what's really going on.
  25.  
  26.                     SISKO 
  27.             I'm not buying it, doctor. You 
  28.             didn't come in here to complain, 
  29.             you came in here because you're 
  30.             worried about your friend and you 
  31.             want me to put your mind at ease.

  33.     Bashir's face tells us he's right --
  34.  
  35.                     SISKO 
  36.             I wish I could. 
  37.                 (beat) 
  38.             If it helps, I will tell you this --
  39.             the chief can take care of himself 
  40.             about as well as anyone I know.

  42.     Bashir takes this in, feeling somewhat reassured by 
  43.     Sisko's words.
  44.  
  45.                     BASHIR
  46.             You're right about that, sir.
  47.  
  48.     A moment between them, then Bashir EXITS. Off Sisko's 
  49.     face as he hopes that what he said is true...
