  7.             Major Kira knows full well that 
  8.             I made every effort to heal the 
  9.             wounds between Cardassia and 
  10.             Bajor. It was my intention from 
  11.             the very beginning to rectify the 
  12.             mistakes of the past and begin a 
  13.             new chapter in our relations.
  14.  
  15.     Dukat looks at Sisko and awaits a reaction. After a 
  16.     pause, Sisko points to the pepper in Dukat's hand.

  18.                     SISKO 
  19.             Are you going to put that in my 
  20.             soup?
  21.  
  22.     Dukat almost lets his temper flare, but then a more 
  23.     good-natured smile makes its way to his face. He taps 
  24.     some of the pepper into the soup. Sisko samples it 
  25.     again.
  26.  
  27.                     DUKAT 
  28.             Well?
  29.  
  30.                     SISKO
  31.                 (considered) 
  32.             Better.
  33.  
  34.     Dukat goes back to his own bowl.

  36.                     DUKAT 
  37.             You're not going to give me the 
  38.             benefit of the doubt, are you?

  41.             Does it matter what I think?

  43.                     DUKAT 
  44.             Don't you care about what your old 
  45.             friends think of you?

  47.     Sisko pauses before taking another mouthful of soup and 
  48.     gives Dukat a very blunt look.

  50.                     SISKO 
  51.             Dukat. We're not old friends. 
  52.             You saved my life and I'm 
  53.             grateful. But that's as far as 
  54.             it goes.
