DS9: "You Are Cordially Invited... " - REV. 9/23/97 - ACT FIVE 57.
36 CONTINUED: (2)
MARTOK
We are not accorded the luxury of
choosing the women we fall in love
with. Do you think Sirella is
anything like the woman I thought
I'd marry? She is a mercurial,
arrogant, prideful woman who
shares my bed far too infrequently
for my taste.
(beat)
And yet... I love her deeply. We
Klingons often tout our prowess
in battle and our desire for honor
and glory above all else... but
how hollow is the sound of victory
without someone to share it with.
And Honor gives little comfort to
a man alone in his home... and in
his heart.
There's a long beat as we see Martok's words hit home
with Worf. Off the heartbroken look in his eyes...
CUT TO:
37 INT. QUARK'S
Bashir and O'Brien are now sitting together at a table
watching as two Ferengi Waiters deliver a dinner feast
to them. Quark is checking off the items as they're
placed on the table in front of the starving doctor.
QUARK
... one steak with mushrooms,
baked potato, sour cream and
chives...
O'BRIEN
I should've had that.
