  11.     an open TOOLBOX nearby. Dax is in the Captain's Chair, 
  12.     reading over a PADD. SUPERNUMERARIES as needed. Dax 
  13.     looks up, addresses O'Brien and Nog with mock 
  14.     exasperation.
  15.  
  16.                     DAX 
  17.             Are you two ever going to finish?
  18.  
  19.                     NOG 
  20.             Just a few more minutes, 
  21.             commander.
  22.  
  23.                     O'BRIEN
  24.                 (correcting him) 
  25.             That's "captain."
  26.                 (explaining) 
  27.             It's an old naval tradition. 
  28.             Whoever's in command of a ship, 
  29.             regardless of rank, is referred to 
  30.             as "captain."

  32.     Nog likes the sound of this.

  35.             You mean if I had to take command, 
  36.             I'd be called "captain," too?

  39.                 (wry) 
  40.             Cadet, by the time you took 
  41.             command, there wouldn't be anyone 
  42.             left to call you anything.
