  9.     Dax, O'Brien and Rom are sitting around a table spread 
  10.     with food, drink and five or six different PADDS. 
  11.     They're discussing the minefield, but, since Dax is 
  12.     running things, the atmosphere is informal. Think the 
  13.     Manhattan Project, a group of scientists and engineers 
  14.     getting together to solve a problem, where the physics 
  15.     are more important than winning the war.
  16.  
  17.                     O'BRIEN 
  18.             What about pulse mines? We could 
  19.             equip them with variable geometry 
  20.             detonators.
  21.  
  22.                     DAX
  23.             Not good enough. The Dominion 
  24.             ships could just wait at the mouth 
  25.             of the wormhole and pick them off 
  26.             one by one.
  27.  
  28.                     O'BRIEN
  29.             What if we cloaked them?
  30.  
  31.                     DAX
  32.             Cloaks don't always work against 
  33.             the Dominion.
  34.  
  35.                     O'BRIEN
  36.             Maybe cloaked ships don't, but I'm 
  37.             thinking a lot smaller. Each mine 
  38.             no more than a meter across.
  39.  
  40.                     DAX
  41.             A mine that small wouldn't have 
  42.             much power. It would take dozens 
  43.             of them to disable a warship. 
  44.             We'd run out of mines before they 
  45.             ran out of ships.

  47.     Dax looks over at Rom.

  50.             Rom, are you here?

  53.             Cloak. Small. Dozens. I heard 
  54.             every word.
  55.
