  9.     Odo's reaction tells Bashir he's hit the nail on the 
  10.     head...

  12.                     BASHIR 
  13.             She might. But you can't go 
  14.             through life trying to avoid 
  15.             having your heart broken. If you 
  16.             do, it'll break from loneliness, 
  17.             anyway. So you might as well take 
  18.             a chance. If you don't, she'll 
  19.             move on, and you'll never know 
  20.             what you might have had.
  21.  
  22.     Odo looks at him... though he doesn't know it, Bashir 
  23.     is describing what happened with Kira...
  24.  
  25.                     BASHIR 
  26.             And living with that would be 
  27.             worse than having a broken heart, 
  28.             believe me.
  29.  
  30.     Odo considers Bashir's words, and we get the sense that 
  31.     Bashir has gotten through to him. Suddenly there's a 
  32.     KNOCK on the window. As Bashir rolls it down.
  33.  
  34.                     BASHIR
  35.             We're almost done, darling...
  36.  
  37.     But his only reply is the muzzle of a GUN through the 
  38.     window... an eyepatched O'Brien, dressed as Falcon, 
  39.     sticks his face in the window.
  40.  
  41.                     O'BRIEN 
  42.                 (as Falcon) 
  43.             Car trouble, Mister Bashir? 
  44.                 (normal voice) 
  45.             Oh. Hi, Odo.
  46.  
  47.                     ODO
  48.             I should go. Thank you, Doctor.
  49.  
  50.     And with that, Odo slips out the other door.

  52.                     BASHIR 
  53.             This isn't fair, Chief. Odo and 
  54.             I were talking.
  55.  
  56.     O'Brien smiles grimly at Bashir...
