  7.             Spare the rod, spoil the child.
  8.                 (off Odo's look)
  9.             Without discomfort, the changeling 
  10.             is perfectly content to stay in 
  11.             its gelatinous state. It'll just 
  12.             lie there, never realizing it has 
  13.             the ability to mimic other forms, 
  14.             never living up to its potential.
  15.                 (beat)
  16.             Six millivolts isn't going to 
  17.             harm it. Once it realizes there's 
  18.             no charge inside the circle, the 
  19.             procedure will be over.
  20.  
  21.     A moment, then Odo reaches and works the controls.
  22.  
  23. 23   NEW ANGLE (OPTICAL)
  24.  
  25.     The goo immediately starts to send out tendrils, as if 
  26.     trying to find a safe place to be.
  27.  
  28.     Odo turns and looks at Mora, who's watching with his 
  29.     scientific dispassion. Mora notices his gaze --
  30.  
  31.                     MORA
  32.             Checking to see if I'm enjoying 
  33.             myself... ?
  34.  
  35.     Odo can see that he's not; embarrassed, he turns his 
  36.     attention back to the goo. As they watch, a TENDRIL 
  37.     finds the circle...
  38.  
  39.                     ODO
  40.                 (to the goo)
  41.             That's it... you've found it...
  42.  
  43.     A moment, then the goo quickly MOVES to fill the blue 
  44.     area, forming itself into a perfect circle so as to 
  45.     avoid the charge. Odo breaks into a wide grin, but 
  46.     Mora doesn't let him enjoy the moment long.
  47.  
  48.                     MORA
  49.             I smiled the first time you did
  50.             that... little did I know you'd 
  51.             end up hating me for it.
  52.                 (all business)
  53.             Shall we move on?
  54.  
  55.     The smile fades from Odo's face as he realizes the 
  56.     point Mora is trying to make...
  57.  
  58.                     ODO
  59.             Why not.
  60.
