  8.             prison for helping the Maquis -- 
  9.             she's paid for what she did.

  13.             I suppose so.

  15.     Jake gets up and begins clearing the table. His 
  16.     father's lack of interest in Kasidy really bothers him, 
  17.     though he tries not to show it.
  18.  
  19.                     JAKE
  20.             I hope you'll give her a chance... 
  21.             that's all. You two had 
  22.             something...
  23.  
  24.     But Sisko doesn't respond. He's lost in deep 
  25.     concentration, staring at the odd shapes formed by the 
  26.     pieces of fruit and rind.
  27.  
  28.                     JAKE 
  29.             Dad?
  30.  
  31.     No answer.
  32.  
  33.                     JAKE 
  34.             Dad -- what is it?
  35.  
  36.                     SISKO
  37.             These shapes...

  39. 17   CLOSE ON THE FRUIT PLATE

  41.                     SISKO (O.S.)

  43.             ... I know what they are.

  45.                                 MATCH CUT TO:

  47. 18   INT. HOLOSUITE

  49.     The same shapes now superimposed onto the fourth side 
  50.     of the Obelisk. We now understand that the shapes 
  51.     Sisko saw in the fruit are the missing "markings." 
  52.     Sisko excitedly walks around the Obelisk -- marveling 
  53.     that all four sides are now "complete."
  54.  
  55.     Sisko stares at the mysterious markings, his mind 
  56.     racing through the possibilities. A COM VOICE 
  57.     interrupts:
  58.
