  18.     Keiko looks at him, decides she can ease the reins just 
  19.     a bit..

  22.             Don't stay up too late. You've 
  23.             got a busy day tomorrow.

  25.     Keiko EXITS into the bedroom. O'Brien waits a beat, 
  26.     then steps over to a monitor. He speaks clandestinely, 
  27.     looking over his shoulder.

  29.                     O'BRIEN 
  30.             Computer. I want to see a record 
  31.             of all Bajoran legends concerning 
  32.             the Pah-wraiths.
  33.  
  34.                     COMPUTER VOICE 
  35.             There are six thousand, four 
  36.             hundred, twenty-seven entries in 
  37.             the data banks that reference that 
  38.             subject.  Please specify.

  40.     O'Brien exhales with frustration -- he has no idea 
  41.     where to begin.

  43.                     KEIKO (O.S.) 
  44.             Miles...

  46.     O'Brien's expression hardens before he heads to the 
  47.     bedroom.

  49. 17   INT. O'BRIEN'S BEDROOM - OVERHEAD ON O'BRIEN

  51.     He lies stiff as a corpse beneath the sheets. His eyes 
  52.     slide apprehensively to his right as the sheets lift 
  53.     and Keiko, in a nightgown, slips in beside him. Her 
  54.     body RUSTLES SOFTLY as it seeks a comfortable position; 
  55.     she sighs, like a cat settling in for a long languid 
  56.     nap.
  57.  
  58.                     KEIKO 
  59.             Sleep well, Miles.
  60.  
  61.     PULL AWAY SLOWLY from the figure of O'Brien, alone in 
  62.     the dark beside the strange form of his wife. He 
  63.     stares up into the shadows.

  65.                                     FADE TO BLACK.
