  15.     He takes Jake by the shoulder, smiles, shakes his head 
  16.     in relief. He sees the wound on his forehead --

  18.                     KIRBY 
  19.             What happened?

  21.                     JAKE 
  22.             I got knocked out when we were 
  23.             trying to get to the runabout. 
  24.             Did Doctor Bashir make it back all 
  25.             right?
  26.  
  27.     Jake has no idea what the answer will be, so when Kirby 
  28.     nods, his relief is palpable. Kirby inclines his head 
  29.     in the direction of the intensive care ward.

  31.                     KIRBY 
  32.             He's in IC for the night, plasma 
  33.             burns on his arm and shoulder. I 
  34.             don't know how he managed it, but 
  35.             he carried the generator back here 
  36.             by himself.

  38.     Jake looks toward the tunnel that leads to IC -- his 
  39.     relief that Bashir's alive is giving way to a mounting 
  40.     sense of anxiety over what Bashir might think of him 
  41.     for running away.

  43.     Kirby looks Jake up and down, shakes his head as if he 
  44.     still can't believe he's really here.
