  11.             hit in the leg and the medics 
  12.             pulled him off the line -- all I 
  13.             could think was I wish I was 
  14.             him... So I...

  16.     He looks down at his mangled foot, loses it...

  18.                     ENSIGN
  19.             I took my phaser... and I... Oh,
  20.             God... what'd I do to myself...
  21.             what'd I do... ?

  23.     Jake doesn't know what to feel about the Ensign's 
  24.     anguished admission, he's torn between sympathy and 
  25.     revulsion...

  27.     The Bolian and his partner come in with a patient on a 
  28.     stretcher, approach the wall Jake's squatting near...
  29.  
  30.                     BOLIAN 
  31.             Better find somewhere else to 
  32.             sit...

  34.                     JAKE
  35.                 (moving off) 
  36.             No problem...

  38.     As they start to unload their patient, Jake moves
  39.     toward the entrance, tucks himself away in a quiet 
  40.     area.

  42. 13   ON JAKE

  44.     as he pulls his PADD and stylus out. We can see that 
  45.     his hand shakes a little as he tries to write, 
  46.     everything he's seen has gotten to him. His thoughts 
  47.     come out jumbled, confused.

  49.                     JAKE (V.O.)
  50.                 (as he writes) 
  51.             Triage... the sorting of the 
  52.             wounded... forces decisions that --

  54.     He stops, tries to get control of himself.
