  18.     Dax adjusts the furniture.

  20. 13   INT. SISKO'S QUARTERS (OPTICAL)
  21.  
  22.     Sisko is talking on a monitor to his father, JOSEPH
  23.     SISKO. Despite his advanced years, Joseph is as full
  24.     of life and energy as anyone you'd want to meet. He's
  25.     a gourmet cook who runs his own restaurant in New
  26.     Orleans, and his personality is as zesty and full-
  27.     bodied as his cooking. He's a big man with a big
  28.     personality to match.
  29.  
  30.     Several years earlier Joseph fought a debilitating
  31.     battle against a severe illness, barely surviving.
  32.     He's never gotten back to full strength, but he's
  33.     determined to live out the rest of his years with
  34.     gusto. Unfortunately, the years are starting to run
  35.     out, a fact he's determined not to reveal to his son.

  39.             Wait until you see the size of the
  40.             eggplants I'm getting out of my
  41.             garden this year. As big as
  42.             crenshaw melons and twice as
  43.             heavy.

  46.             How's Judith? She still helping
  47.             out at the restaurant?

  49.                     JOSEPH
  50.                 (on monitor)
  51.             I sent her home to Portland. Your
  52.             sister's got her own life to worry
  53.             about. Besides... she never puts
  54.             enough cayenne pepper in the
  55.             jambalaya.

  58.             Just like mom.
