  8. 7    EXT. VILLAGE COMMONS - DAY

  10.     Where a long table is set out for a feast.  Our people sit 
  11.     near the table's head, and the rest of the Meridians, 
  12.     representing a wide range of ages, sit along its perimeter.  
  13.     They're checking out our people, casting them curious looks 
  14.     and friendly smiles.
  15.  
  16.     Sisko is seated next to Seltin, Dax next to DERAL, a male 
  17.     Meridian of about forty.  Bashir and O'Brien sit nearby.
  18.  
  19.     From the head of the table, Seltin addresses the group, which 
  20.     falls silent.
  21.  
  22.                     SELTIN
  23.             It's good to be together again around 
  24.             this table after so long.  What's 
  25.             more, we're fortunate to have visitors 
  26.             to share First Meal with us.
  27.  
  28.     There are nods and murmurs of assent, then everyone begins 
  29.     to eat with great relish... they eat slowly, with great 
  30.     deliberation, as if savoring every moment.

  34.     Dax is taking a sip of something when she notices Deral 
  35.     looking at her.  She meets his eyes.
