  6.     It's a small interrogation room.  The crew of the Defiant, 
  7.     Sisko, Dax, O'Brien, Bashir and T'Rul are seated in a circle, 
  8.     eyes closed, small (TECH) devices attached to their heads.  
  9.     Borath and two other Vorta monitor the devices from a bank 
  10.     of consoles.  Borath looks over at Kira and Odo; smiles.
  11.  
  12.                     BORATH
  13.             Please, come in.
  14.  
  15.     Kira and Odo approach their friends.
  16.  
  17.                     KIRA
  18.             Commander?  Dax?
  19.  
  20.                     BORATH
  21.             They can't hear you.
  22.  
  23.                     ODO
  24.             What have you done to them?
  25.  
  26.                     BORATH
  27.             Nothing harmful.  We're just 
  28.             conducting a little experiment.
  29.  
  30.                     KIRA
  31.             What kind of experiment?
  32.  
  33.                     BORATH
  34.             To see how they'd respond to an 
  35.             attempt by the Dominion to gain a 
  36.             foothold in the Alpha Quadrant.
  37.                 (a beat)
  38.             We were curious to see how much they'd 
  39.             be willing to sacrifice to avoid a 
  40.             war.
  41.  
  42.                     KIRA
  43.                 (looking over at her 
  44.                 friends)
  45.             And what have you found out?
  46.  
  47.                     BORATH
  48.             Unfortunately, they're proving to be 
  49.             as stubborn as I feared.

  51.                     ODO
  52.             I'm glad to hear it.

  54.                     BORATH
  55.             Are you?  Well that is a problem.  
  56.             But, thankfully, it's not one I have 
  57.             to solve.
