  9. 6    INT. SHUTTLE

  11.     SISKO'S in the pilot's seat.  BASHIR, eyes closed, is slumped 
  12.     in seat behind him.  Both men are clearly the worse for wear.
  13.  
  14.     Sisko works the companel, then pauses a moment to collect 
  15.     his thoughts.
  16.  
  17.                     SISKO
  18.             Commander's Log, supplemental.  It's 
  19.             been six days since we were forced 
  20.             to abandon the Defiant during the 
  21.             Jem'Hadar attack.  We still don't 
  22.             know what happened to the rest of 
  23.             the crew.  Doctor Bashir and I have 
  24.             plotted a course back to the wormhole 
  25.             but whether our shuttle can get us 
  26.             there is questionable at best.  Our 
  27.             engines are failing, our external 
  28.             sensors are barely functioning and 
  29.             life support systems are at twenty 
  30.             percent and dropping.
  31.  
  32.                     BASHIR
  33.                 (eyes still closed)
  34.             But other than that we couldn't be 
  35.             in better shape.

  37.     He opens his eyes and smiles over at Sisko.

  39.                     SISKO
  40.             I thought you were sleeping.

  42.                     BASHIR
  43.             From the sound of things I wish I 
  44.             were.
  45.  
  46.                     SISKO
  47.             Things could be worse.

  49.     Suddenly the ship is jolted to a halt.
