  4. 8    EXT. PLANET SURFACE - AMID THE RUINS (OPTICAL)

  6.     Dax, Mora, Odo and Weld beam to the surface.  There are minor 
  7.     tremors throughout.  Dax and Weld have science cases to 
  8.     collect and preserve specimens.  Mora consults a tricorder.  
  9.     As they move through the ruins, we see Weld taking samples 
  10.     away from the main group... he eventually wanders out of 
  11.     view...

  13. 9    WITH ODO AND MORA

  15.     As they move through shattered, stone ruins.  Followed by 
  16.     Dax, they approach the center of the ruins.

  18. 10   A CEREMONIAL STELE
  19.  
  20.     a truncated, white stone pillar standing at the center of 
  21.     the ruins.  There are raised letter shapes in the surface of 
  22.     the pillar.

  24. 11   ODO
  25.  
  26.     As he approaches the stele, studies it with an intensity... 
  27.     could the answer to his mystery be on this artifact... ?  He 
  28.     reaches out, almost reverently, to touch it.

  30.                     MORA
  31.             Do the letters mean anything to you?

  33.     Mora and Dax have approached the stele and are near Odo as 
  34.     he studies it.

  37.             No.  I don't think so.

  40.             Well, judging by its position in the 
  41.             ruins, I think it's fair to say this 
  42.             pillar represented something important 
  43.             to the people who lived here.
