  42.             grateful the Halanans were.  There

  46.             But then, I met Nidell.  She was the 
  47.             daughter of a local dignitary.  She 
  48.             was utterly infatuated with me from 
  49.             the start.  I can't say I blamed 
  50.             her.  The first time she saw me, I 
  51.             was surrounded by a cheering crowd, 
  52.             unveiling a statue they'd commissioned 
  53.             in my honor.
