  10.             waist-belt another notch, so my belly 
  11.             could never really be sure it was 
  12.             shrinking.

  19.             Now you asked me how I got started 
  20.             here, and I'm trying very politely 
  21.             to tell you, if you'll kindly let me

  45.             the ground til it surrendered.  Then 
  46.             I went down on my hands and knees 
  47.             and started to plow... Using my bare 
  48.             fingernails, mind you... I plowed 
  49.             every last furrow in that field 
  50.             straight as a plumb line.
