  15.  General information for sysops who are interested

  18. The Creativity Demo Network is raised by the sysops of ARCO BBS in Holland
  19. and Starport in Finland. Both are the home-base of a DEMO group and we were
  20. looking for a way to write mail to eachother. After a lot of talking Arjan
  21. Pool, sysop of ARCO BBS got his guts (:-)), and raised the CREATIVITY DEMO
  22. NET.
  23. So every one who is interested can join us in our net, though we might say
  24. that our target groups are those people who are interested in writing/coding
  25. sampling/drawing demos.
  26. The net is free for everyone who likes to join us. The only thing we say,
  27. please let it deal about demos. It can be making a bbs-demo or assembling what
  28. so ever.. talk about it. Everyone who join us is responsible for its own. So 
  29. no bbs can be liable for what ever comes to it.

  31. There are no costs in this net, except your own telefoncosts for polling. Of
  32. course we will try it, because everyone knows that polling between countries 
  33. is expensive. So in future it can be that a small amount of money is being
  34. asked from everyone but we will try to keep the net free.
  35. For everyone who is joining us we will try to find a host (or hub) in his
  36. direct environment. When this is not possible, well you just will have to
  37. poll on a longer distance.
  38. When there is choice for two ore more hosts, the country-HQ will decide which
  39. host you must poll.

  41. We will try to moderate as less as possible. There are two restrictions
  42.  
  43.     1. Everything will be in english.
  44.  
  45. Although in future it might be possible to get areas in the country spoken 
  46. language. The country-HQ has no responsibility for that. The world-HQ has 
  47. always his voice in this decisions !.

  49.     2. There will be one or more areas only for "The better demo groups"
  50.  
  51. Of course you will ask us now what a better group is. Well that depends on
  52. the quality of the demo. Jussi, Michael(Skull) and Arjan will take the 
  53. decisions, in good descretion with there demo-groups (Future Crew, Skull and
  54. Dutch Computer Enterprise)

  57.  Rules

  60. Every net has its own rules. Well, lets make some too.
  61.  
  62. 1. The establishers of the CDN have the right to refuse a BBS, who wants to
  63.    join the net, without telling the reason. Too it's possible to reject
  64.    a BBS which does not take care with the rules.
  65.  
  66. 2. The World-HQ takes care for the nodelistings and sends these files
  67.    to the hosts as often as necessary. The hosts take care of the 
  68.    registration-forms, and every new BBS will be announced in the SYSOP
  69.    area of the net. For that, the hosts will announce a new BBS, and send
  70.    the registration form to the WORLD-HQ. in the mean-time they mostly have
  71.    given the new node a number(only a country-HQ can do this). The World-HQ 
  72.    will take over this number and places it in a new nodelist.

  74. 3. Every connected member is obliged to:
  75.     - to place the completed files of the CDN so on his/her BBS
  76.       that everyone can download them.
  77.     - to use the CDN nodelist and his updates.
  78.     - connect to every area available to them.

  80. 4. Areas marked 'for sysops only' have to be only for sysops !
  81.    Do not put them on your BBS.

  88. in this package is the file register.cdn. Please fill in this form, rename
  89. it to your BBS and return it to:

  100. For points who want to be connected to our network we say this. You will
  101. get no point number. Instead of that you get a whole node number (it will
  102. be private of course). Take care of the necessary software yourself !
