  293.  This option will allow you to add or
  294.  update the compressed file comments.

  300.  one specified via the ALT-P command.

  303.  This option allow you to specify which
  304.  files to extract from the compressed
  305.  file. You may specify more the one
  306.  filespec when the prompt appears.  Wild
  307.  cards are allowed.

  309. *altf    !!freshen-from-list!!
  310.  This option allows you to FRESHEN files
  311.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  312.  of files in a window.  After the window
  313.  is displayed you tag the files to
  314.  FRESHEN by pressing the space bar.
  315.  After all files have been tagged press
  316.  the ENTER key to process the tagged
  317.  files.
  318.  
  319. *altg   !!search for string!!
  320.  This option allows you to search all ,or
  321.  only tagged files, for a specific string of
  322.  characters using the program SGREP.COM
  323.  (Which must be in a directory in your PATH
  324.  statement). If no files are tagged then all
  325.  files will be searched.  After the search is
  326.  completed to results will be listed on the
  327.  screen. A normal or Regular Expression
  328.  search may be performed.  Regular Expression
  329.  searches are always case sensitive!!!!!
  330.  
  331. *altm   !!move-from-list!!
  332.  This option allows you to MOVE files
  333.  into the compressed by displaying a list
  334.  of files in a window.  After the window
  335.  is displayed you tag the files to MOVE
  336.  by pressing the space bar.  After all
  337.  files have been tagged press the ENTER
  338.  key to process the tagged files.
  339.  
  340. *altn  !!extract newer!!
  341.  This option will extract ALL or TAGGED NEWER
  342.  files from the compressed file into the
  343.  current DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified
  344.  via the ALT-P command.

  347.  This options allows you to specify a disk
  348.  and directory of where any extracted files
  349.  will be placed.  Specify the extract path as
  350.  follows:
  351.  DISK:\DIRECTORY
  352.  Pressing any key other than the ENTER key
  353.  will clear the extract path. To display a
  354.  directory window enter ONLY a DRIVE LETTER
  355.  FOLLOWED BY A COLON, then press the F9 key.
  356.  A single * may be entered to tell SHEZ to
  357.  use it's floating extract location
  358.  logic.
  359.  
  360. *altr !!rename highlighted!!
  361.  The ALT-R command allows you to rename the
  362.  currently hilighted file in the compressed
  363.  file. You will be prompted for a new name.
  364.  
  365. *alts   !!speed_srch!!
  366.  Speed search allows you to find a file
  367.  in the compressed file quickly.  After
  368.  the window pops up enter a standard DOS
  369.  file search pattern and press the enter
  370.  key.
  371.  The display will be repositioned to the
  372.  first or next file that matches the
  373.  pattern.
  374.  
  375. *altt  !!toggle tagged display line!!
  376.  Pressing the ALT-T keys will toggle
  377.  the tagged file display line at the
  378.  bottom of the screen.

  381.  This option allows you to UPDATE files
  382.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  383.  of files in a window.  After the window
  384.  is displayed you tag the files to
  385.  UPDATE by pressing the space bar.

  387.  the ENTER key to process the tagged
  388.  files.

  391.  This option will display the master
  392.  comment record and the file comment
  393.  records for the selected compressed
  394.  file.

  397.  This option will extract ALL files from
  398.  the compressed file into the current
  399.  DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified via
  400.  the ALT-P command.

  403.  This option allows run a program against
  404.  all tagged file(s).  You will be prompted
  405.  to enter the program name to run, the
  406.  parameters to pass to the program, if you
  407.  want SHEZ to swap itself out of memory when
  408.  running the program, and if you want SHEZ
  409.  to pause after each execution of your
  410.  program.
  411.  
  412. *altz  !!virus check!!
  413.  This option will check files to see if they
  414.  have been infected with a virus.  You must
  415.  have the virus checking program from McAfee
  416.  Assoc. call SCAN.EXE version 39 or greater,
  417.  and have used the configuration program to
  418.  tell SHEZ where to find SCAN.EXE.

  420.  IF FILES ARE TAGGED SHEZ WILL ONLY CHECK
  421.  THE TAGGED FILES FOR INFECTION.

  424.  This option will toggle the authenticity
  425.  option when using PKZIP version 1.1 or
  426.  greater.  If the authenticity mode is
  427.  toggled on a ! will appear next to the
  428.  [FILE LIST] window header on the main
  429.  screen or next to the NAME field on the
  430.  compressed file contents screen.
  431.  
  432. *c  !!create-new!!
  433.  This will allow you to create a NEW
  434.  compressed file.  You will be prompted
  435.  to enter the
  436.  DISK:\DIRECTORY\FILENAME.EXT of the
  437.  compressed file to create, whether you
  438.  want to add or move files into the new
  439.  compressed file, and the DISK:\DIRECTORY
  440.  of the files to add and/or move to the
  441.  new compressed file.
  442.  YOU MUST SUPPLY A FILE EXTENSION FOR THE
  443.  FILE TO BE CREATED.  SHEZ CURRENTLY WILL
  444.  ALLOW YOU TO CREATE ZIP,ARC,ZOO,LZH,PAK
  445.  and UC2 files!!!!!
  446.  
  447.  You will also be asked if you want to
  448.  TAG files to be added/moved or process
  449.  the entered file spec as is.
  450.  
  451.  If the compression program you choose
  452.  supports saving path information you will
  453.  also be asked if you want to save
  454.  directory information, and if you want to
  455.  recurse the directory tree.
  456.  
  457.  If you are converting from a ZIP to an ARJ
  458.  or a ARJ to a ZIP file you will also be
  459.  asked if you wish to preserve volume label
  460.  information that can be stored inside the
  461.  compressed file.  (THIS OPTION WILL ONLY
  462.  APPEAR WHEN CONVERTING THE CURRENTLY
  463.  HIGHLIGHTED FILE.  IT WILL NOT APPEAR IF
  464.  RUNNING UNDER OS/2.)
  465.  
  466.  
  467. *ctld  !!delete tagged!!
  468.  This option will delete all tagged files
  469.  from the compressed file.  You will be
  470.  asked to verify the delete before the
  471.  files are actually deleted from the
  472.  compressed file.
  473.  
  474. *ctle  !!extract tagged!!
  475.  This option will extract all tagged
  476.  files from the compressed file.
  477.  
  478. *ctlenter  !!alternate viewer!!
  479.  This option will activate the alternate
  480.  file viewer if one has been defined in
  481.  the SHEZ.EV external file.
  482.  PLEASE SEE  THE USER MANUAL FOR
  483.  INSTRUCTIONS ON SETTING UP AN
  484.  ALTERNATE VIEWER.
  485.  
  486. *ctlt  !!update compressed time and date!!
  487.  This option will set the compressed
  488.  file's time and date to the time and
  489.  date corresponding to the newest file in
  490.  the compressed file.
  491.  
  492. *ctlu  !!untag all!!
  493.  This option will untag all currently
  494.  tagged files.
  495.  
  496. *ctlsp  !!tag all files!!
  497.  This option will tag all files in the
  498.  currently displayed window.
  499.  
  500. *ctlv  !!convert sfx files!!
  501.  This option will convert a self
  502.  extracting file back to its native
  503.  compressed file format. The self
  504.  extracting file will remain untouched.
  505.  The normal compressed file will be
  506.  built on the same drive and directory
  507.  where self extracting file is found.
  508.  
  509. *ctly  !!copy members to another arc!!
  510.  This option allows you to copy all
  511.  tagged files from the current compressed
  512.  file into another compressed file.  The
  513.  target compressed file may be any
  514.  currently supported format.
  515.  
  516. *ctlx !!exit to extract dir!!
  517.  This option will exit SHEZ and will
  518.  drop you off into disk and directory
  519.  that is specified as the extract
  520.  location.
  521.  
  522. *d  !!delete one file!!
  523.  This option will delete the currently
  524.  highlighted file from the compressed
  525.  file. You will be asked to verify the
  526.  delete before the delete is actually
  527.  done.
  528.  
  529. *e  !!extract one file!!
  530.  This option will extract the currently
  531.  highlighted file onto the default disk
  532.  drive and directory, or the
  533.  DISK:\DIRECTORY that was specified via
  534.  the ALT-P command.
  535.  
  536. *f      !!freshen!!
  537.  Using this option you can specify the
  538.  file(s) you wish to FRESHEN in the
  539.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  540.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  541.  cards are allowed for filenames and file
  542.  extensions.
  543.  
  544. *f10  !!to-dos!!
  545.  This option will temporarily exit to
  546.  DOS. You may then execute any DOS
  547.  command.  To return to SHEZ
  548.  enter EXIT at the DOS prompt and press
  549.  the return key.
  550.  
  551. *af10  !!to-dos to extract_path!!
  552.  This option will temporarily exit to
  553.  DOS and will drop you into the extract
  554.  directory. You may then execute any DOS
  555.  command.  To return to SHEZ enter EXIT
  556.  at the DOS prompt and press the return key.
  557.  
  558. *f2    !!switch_arc!!!
  559.  This option prompts for a new DRIVE:\PATH to
  560.  change to.  You may also specify a filename
  561.  and file extension if you wish. Wild cards
  562.  in the name and extension are allowed. IF
  563.  YOU ENTER A FILENAME OF $ AND A FILE
  564.  EXTENSION OF $ SHEZ WILL DISPLAY ONLY THE
  565.  ARCHIVE FILES THAT ARE FOUND IN THE
  566.  SPECIFIED DIRECTORY.
  567.  I.E. C:\WORK\$.$
  568.  You can also pop-up a directory tree window
  569.  by press the F9 key. When the tree appears
  570.  you may press the letters C-Z to obtain a
  571.  directory tree of a different drive. You may
  572.  also enter a DRIVE LETTER FOLLOWED BY A
  573.  COLON, before pressing the the F9 key.
  574.  
  575. *af2 !!smart extract
  576.  This option will invoke the smart extract function.
  577.  Smart extract will analyze the list of tagged
  578.  files and will attempt to fill the target
  579.  drive.  If all files will not fit on the target
  580.  drive a message will be displayed and the files
  581.  that could not be copied will remain tagged.
  582.  
  583. *f8  !!edit!!
  584.  This option will allow you to edit a
  585.  file in the compressed file.  This
  586.  option will only work if you specified
  587.  an editor to use when you configured
  588.  compressedPER.
  589.  
  590. *f9    !!!get_sort!!!
  591.  F9 allows you to indicate how to sort
  592.  the list.
  593.  ALT-F9 allows you to specify the sort
  594.  order for each sort type. The sort
  595.  order specified will remain in effect
  596.  until you exit SHEZ or re-specify.
  597.  
  598. *fact  !!!compression factor!!!
  599.  This option will allow you to set the
  600.  compression method used by the PKZIP or ARJ
  601.  programs.  When you set the compression
  602.  method, it will remain in effect until you
  603.  change it again.
  604.  
  605.  
  606. *g  !!password!!
  607.  This option allows you to specify the password
  608.  to be used by the compression program.  If the
  609.  compression program does not support passwords
  610.  an error window will appear informing you that
  611.  the option is not supported.
  612.  
  613. *i  !!show info!!
  614.  This option will show information about
  615.  the compressed file. I.E. Number of
  616.  files in file, total size of all files,
  617.  time and date of compressed file, etc.
  618.  
  619. *m     !!mode!!
  620.  Using this option you can specify the
  621.  file(s) you wish to MOVE into to the
  622.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
