  1. Mosaic of images obtained in the K band with the IR array on the 0.75m
  2. telescope by Kaz Sekiguchi on 1994 jul 16. The time sequence proceeds
  3. from top left to bottom right. The images are 30 sec exposures, at intervals
  4. of 1 minute, starting at 2217SAST, ending at 2232SAST. South is up and west
  5. is to the left. The bright moon is Io, and the Great Red Spot is clearly
  6. visible on the surface of Jupiter. The impact produced a flare which
  7. rapidly increased in brightness and decayed slowly. This flare is probably
  8. from a plume of material which becomes visible above the limb of Jupiter.
  9. Rotation probably plays little part in the observed event. JWM
