  3. Note:  In this directory, we have included a DOS executable of 
  4. Behind the Magic that was created as part of the development 
  5. process.
  6.  
  7. As Behind the Magic requires Windows 95, this version has not
  8. gone through our normal test procedures and we do not officially
  9. support it.  In fact, our technical support personnel have not
  10. been trained to deal with it and cannot answer questions
  11. regarding the DOS version.
  12.  
  13. However, with that said, it's provided as a "just in case"
  14. option for the instance or two in which it might help where the
  15. Windows executable cannot be run.
  16.  
  17. Notes about the DOS version:
  18.  
  19. SOUND
  20.    Supports Soundblaster only.  You should set a BLASTER
  21.    environment variable to the correct settings of your sound 
  22.    card.  Furthermore, sound support is only 8-bit, so it will
  23.    be noisier on a 16-bit sound card compared to the Windows95
  24.    version.
  25.  
  26. VIDEO
  27.    Requires a video card with a 16-bit VESA-compatible mode.
  28.    If your card does not have a VESA-compatible driver, it will
  29.    not work.
  30.  
  31. PRINT
  32.    Screen printing is not implemented.
  33.  
  34. SETTING
  35.    Control panel settings and trivia scores do not get saved
  36.    between sessions.
  37.  
  38. SPEED
  39.    The DOS version is known to be noticeably slower than the
  40.    Windows equivalent.  This will be particularly noticeable
  41.    on a 133 MHz machine.

  43. RUNNING
  44.    You can run the DOS version from a DOS prompt by going to the
  45.    \NOSUPORT directory of this CD and typing:
