- 1.5 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

- 1.6 WARRANTY

- 2.3 ACCESSORIES

- A. Anchor Bolts: Type 316 stainless steel, threaded, 3/8
- inch (9.5 mm) diameter by 5 inches (127 mm) long; include
- nuts and washers.
- 1. Quantity: 5 for each permanently-anchored unit.
- 2. Quantity: 8 for each movable unit.
- NOTE ** Delete one of the following two paragraphs or allow
- both to remain as installer's option for setting
- anchors. Consult local fastener company for
- assistance. Installed anchor bolts should have no
- less than 4,000 pounds (1,814 kg) tensile pull
- resistance per bolt.

- PART 3 EXECUTION
-
- 3.1 EXAMINATION
-
- A. Before starting installation, inspect substrates, verify
- critical dimensions, and examine conditions under which
- work is to be installed.
-
- B. Do not proceed with installation until unsatisfactory
- conditions have been corrected in a manner acceptable to
- the installer.
-
- C. Beginning installation constitutes acceptance of existing
- conditions and responsibility for satisfactory
- performance.
-
- 3.2 INSTALLATION
-
- A. General: Comply with manufacturer's instructions and
- recommendations for work required during installation.
- 1. Comply with the National Electrical Code for
- electrical work required during installation.
- 2. Perform work with competent, skilled workers under
- the direct control and supervision of the installer's
- experienced foreman.
- 3. Coordinate installation with the work of other
- trades.

- B. Supply all setting templates and diagrams for placement.
-
- C. Install anchors and anchor bolts.
- 1. Drill 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) diameter by 4 inch (100 mm)
- deep anchor bolt holes into pool deck in accordance
- with template.
- 2. Clean holes thoroughly with shop vaccuum or blow out
- with compressed air.
- 3. Ensure that anchor holes are clean and dry until
- anchors are set.
- NOTE ** Delete two of the following three subparagraphs.
- 4. Set bolts using inserts.
- 5. Set bolts using epoxy capsules.
- 6. Set bolts using inserts or epoxy capsules.
- NOTE ** Select first paragraph below for permanently-
- anchored people lifts. Select the second paragraph
- below for movable lifts.

- D. After bolts are set or cured, lift machine and carefully
- set down over bolts without damaging or dislodging bolts.
-
- E. After anchors are set or cured, roll machine directly
- over anchors without damaging or dislodging anchors.
-
- F. If anchors or anchor bolts are damaged or dislodged,
- remove machine and re-set anchors or bolts.
-
- G. Level machine using leveling shims supplied with machine
- or additional stainless steel washers. Check with 4-foot
- hand level.
- NOTE ** Select first paragraph below for permanently-
- anchored people lifts. Select the second paragraph
- below for movable lifts.
-
- H. After machine is set and level, place washers over bolts,
- apply nuts, and tighten. Do not over-tighten.
-
- I. After machine is positioned and level, place bolts into
- anchors and tighten. Do not over-tighten.
-
- J. Install motors, operating controls, and all equipment and
- accessories to provide a quiet, smoothly operating
- installation, free from sway, oscillation or vibration.
-
- K. Lubricate operating parts as required by manufacturer.
-
- 3.3 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL
-
- A. Acceptance Testing: Upon completion of the installation
- and before permitting use of system, perform acceptance
- tests as required and recommended by code and governing
- authorities.
-
- B. Make necessary adjustments of operating devices and
- equipment to ensure smooth and accurate operation.
-
- 3.4 CLEANING
-
- A. Before final acceptance, clean surfaces in accordance
- with manufacturer's recommendations.
-
- B. At completion of installation, remove tools, equipment,
- and surplus materials from site. Clean work areas.
- Remove trash and debris.
