  69. 1.5 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

  154. 2.3 ACCESSORIES

  157.         inch (9.5 mm) diameter by 5 inches (127 mm) long; include
  158.         nuts and washers.
  159.         1.  Quantity:  5 for each permanently-anchored unit.
  160.         2.  Quantity:  8 for each movable unit.

  173. PART 3  EXECUTION

  175. 3.1 EXAMINATION
  176.  
  177.     A.  Before starting installation, inspect substrates, verify
  178.         critical dimensions, and examine conditions under which
  179.         work is to be installed.
  180.  
  181.     B.  Do not proceed with installation until unsatisfactory
  182.         conditions have been corrected in a manner acceptable to
  183.         the installer.
  184.  
  185.     C.  Beginning installation constitutes acceptance of existing
  186.         conditions and responsibility for satisfactory
  187.         performance.
  188.  
  189. 3.2 INSTALLATION
  190.  
  191.     A.  General:  Comply with manufacturer's instructions and
  192.         recommendations for work required during installation.
  193.         1.  Comply with the National Electrical Code for
  194.             electrical work required during installation.
  195.         2.  Perform work with competent, skilled workers under
  196.             the direct control and supervision of the installer's
  197.             experienced foreman.
  198.         3.  Coordinate installation with the work of other
  199.             trades.
  200.  
  201.     B.  Supply all setting templates and diagrams for placement.
  202.  
  203.     C.  Install anchors and anchor bolts.
  204.         1.  Drill 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) diameter by 4 inch (100 mm)
  205.             deep anchor bolt holes into pool deck in accordance
  206.             with template.
  207.         2.  Clean holes thoroughly with shop vaccuum or blow out
  208.             with compressed air.
  209.         3.  Ensure that anchor holes are clean and dry until
  210.             anchors are set.
  211. NOTE ** Delete two of the following three subparagraphs.
  212.         4.  Set bolts using inserts.
  213.         5.  Set bolts using epoxy capsules.
  214.         6.  Set bolts using inserts or epoxy capsules.
  215. NOTE ** Select first paragraph below for permanently-
  216.         anchored people lifts.  Select the second paragraph
  217.         below for movable lifts.
  218.  
  219.     D.  After bolts are set or cured, lift machine and carefully
  220.         set down over bolts without damaging or dislodging bolts.
  221.  
  222.     E.  After anchors are set or cured, roll machine directly
  223.         over anchors without damaging or dislodging anchors.
  224.  
  225.     F.  If anchors or anchor bolts are damaged or dislodged,
  226.         remove machine and re-set anchors or bolts.
  227.  
  228.     G.  Level machine using leveling shims supplied with machine
  229.         or additional stainless steel washers.  Check with 4-foot
  230.         hand level.
  231. NOTE ** Select first paragraph below for permanently-
  232.         anchored people lifts.  Select the second paragraph
  233.         below for movable lifts.

  235.     H.  After machine is set and level, place washers over bolts,
  236.         apply nuts, and tighten.  Do not over-tighten.
  237.  
  238.     I.  After machine is positioned and level, place bolts into
  239.         anchors and tighten.  Do not over-tighten.
  240.  
  241.     J.  Install motors, operating controls, and all equipment and
  242.         accessories to provide a quiet, smoothly operating
  243.         installation, free from sway, oscillation or vibration.
  244.  
  245.     K.  Lubricate operating parts as required by manufacturer.

  247. 3.3 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL
  248.  
  249.     A.  Acceptance Testing:  Upon completion of the installation
  250.         and before permitting use of system, perform acceptance
  251.         tests as required and recommended by code and governing
  252.         authorities.
  253.  
  254.     B.  Make necessary adjustments of operating devices and
  255.         equipment to ensure smooth and accurate operation.
  256.  
  257. 3.4 CLEANING
  258.  
  259.     A.  Before final acceptance, clean surfaces in accordance
  260.         with manufacturer's recommendations.
  261.  
  262.     B.  At completion of installation, remove tools, equipment,
  263.         and surplus materials from site.  Clean work areas.
  264.         Remove trash and debris.
