  111.         with steel-on-steel hinges and 10-gage steel mounting
  112.         supports; gas shock mechanism designed to lift door from
  113.         open position and brake to prevent trapping fingers.

  115.     B.  Materials:  16-gage Type 304 stainless steel,
  116.         architectural satin finish, reinforced with steel-on-
  117.         steel hinges and 10-gage steel mounting supports; gas
  118.         shock mechanism designed to lift door from open position
  119.         and brake to prevent trapping fingers.
  120. NOTE ** Koala Bear Kare Baby Changing Stations delight
  121.         parents and protect children. Select one or more of
  122.         the following styles for installation in public
  123.         restrooms for both sexes.

  125. NOTE ** The horizontal design was created for areas with
  126.         narrow passageways.  It extends no more than four
  127.         inches from wall when closed and only 20 inches
  128.         when opened.

  131.         horizontal wall space and can be mounted over the
  132.         commode or in the wash area.

  209. 2.3 CHILD PROTECTION SEATS
  210. NOTE ** The Koala Bear Kare Child Protection seat provides
  211.         peace of mind for parents by allowing them to seat
  212.         their baby safely in the restroom stall or fitting
  213.         room with them.  The compact design fits into the
  214.         smallest stalls, extending less than 6 inches when
  215.         the seat is folded closed.  Coordinate materials
  216.         listed below with project requirements

  218.     A.  Materials:  Molded high impact polyethylene.

  220.     B.  Materials:  16-gage Type 304 stainless steel.

  222.     C.  Design:  Provide folding seat engineered to withstand
  223.         static load of up to 150 pounds, with seat and back
  224.         concave molded and tilted backward slightly for safety.

  228. 2.4 ACCESSORIES

  230.     A.  Fasteners:  Provide each baby accessory with all hardware
  231.         required for secure installation to various substrates.

  237. PART 3  EXECUTION

  239. 3.1 EXAMINATION
  240.  
  241.     A.  Verify that site conditions are ready to receive
  242.         accessories and dimensions are in compliance with
  243.         manufacturer's instructions.
  244.  
  245.     B.  Verify that all components necessary for proper
  246.         installation are available.
  247.  
  248. 3.2 INSTALLATION
  249.  
  250.     A.  Comply with manufacturer's printed instructions, except
  251.         where more stringent requirements are mandated by
  252.         governing authorities, and except where project
  253.         conditions require extra precautions or provisions.
  254.  
  255.     B.  Locate baby changing stations and child protection seats
  256.         to eliminate interference with door swings or use of
  257.         fixtures in compliance with ADA compliance.
  258. NOTE ** Edit paragraphs below to conform to project
  259.         conditions.

  261.     C.  At stud walls, verify that at least one side of changing
  262.         station is located so fasteners will be installed
  263.         directly into stud.  If stud spacing is other than 16
  264.         inches on center, use toggles for installation at
  265.         opposite side.

  267.     D.  At solid masonry walls, drill pilot holes for
  268.         installation of expansion-type fasteners.
  269.  
  270.     E.  At toilet partitions, use through-bolt fasteners for
  271.         installation of child protection seat.

  273.     F.  Install metal sign on restroom door, using double-stick
  274.         tape or corrosion-resistant screws.

  276. 3.3 CLEANING AND ADJUSTING
  277.  
  278.     A.  Upon completion of installation, clean all surfaces that
  279.         have become soiled during installation.

  281.     B.  Fill built-in dispenser in baby changing stations with
  282.         sanitary bed liners.
