  86.         (PVC) formula resin, plasticizers, stabilizers, pigments,
  87.         and other additives.

  89.         2.  Classification:  No ingredients listed as hazardous
  90.             per OSHA 29CFR1910.0017.

  126. 3.1 EXAMINATION
  127.  
  128.     A.  Verification of Conditions:
  129.         1.  Prepared spaces are sized and located in accordance
  130.             with shop drawings.
  131.         2.  Framing, reinforcement, and anchoring devices are
  132.             correct type and are located in accordance with shop
  133.             drawings.
  134.  
  135.     B.  Installer's Examination:
  136.         1.  Examine conditions under which installation is to be
  137.             performed; submit written notification if such
  138.             conditions are unacceptable.
  139.         2.  Installation activities before unacceptable
  140.             conditions have been corrected is prohibited.
  141.         3.  Installation indicates installer's acceptance of
  142.             conditions.
  143.  
  144. 3.2 INSTALLATION
  145. NOTE ** Mounting components provide for shelving
  146.         installation to drywall without requiring mounting
  147.         to concealed wall structural members.  Support
  148.         brackets are required at 36 inches (24 for shelving
  149.         designed for heavy use).
  150.  
  151.     A.  Cut shelves 1/2 inch to 1-3/8 inches (12.7 to 35 mm)
  152.         shorter than actual wall measurements; cap all exposed
  153.         ends.
  154.  
  155.     B.  Install shelving plumb and level at heights indicated in
  156.         accordance with shop drawings and manufacturer's printed
  157.         installation instructions.
  158.  
  159.     C.  Place wall clips No. 970, 971 every 10 to 12 inches (250
  160.         to 300 mm) on level line.
  161.  
  162.     D.  Install end brackets No. 972, 973, 974 on same level line
  163.         as wall clips, centered on the front rods of shelves.
  164.         Support shelves 36 inches (915 mm) maximum with end
  165.         brackets, support brackets, or poles.
  166.  
  167.     E.  Drill holes where required using sharp bit; do not punch.
  168. NOTE ** Delete the following applications not required for
  169.         the project.

  171.     F.  Drywall:  Drill 1/4 inch (6 mm) hole, insert No. 970 or
  172.         971 wall clip.  Use No. 8 pin to expand anchor.
  173.  
  174.     G.  Wood:  Drill 1/4 inch (6 mm) hole into wood, secure wall
  175.         clip with No. 8 x 1 inch (25 mm) screw or secure pole
  176.         clip No. 978 directly to wood with No. 8 x 1-1/4 inch (31
  177.         mm) screws.

  179.     H.  Concrete:  Drill 1/4 inch (6 mm) hole with masonry bit,
  180.         insert wall clip No. 978, secure with No. 8 x 1 inch (25
  181.         mm) screws.

  183.     I.  Standards and Brackets:
  184.         1.  Install standards vertically every 16 inches (400 mm)
  185.             on studs.
  186.         2.  Install horizontal tracks level, secured with screws
  187.             or mollies in studs or drywall; use hanging adapters
  188.             to connect wall standards for hanging.
  189. NOTE ** Twelve inch Z-lip shelving is made specially for
  190.         the following installation.
  191.         3.  Attach shelf brackets with SuperSlide, Heavy Duty,
  192.             Linen Shelf and Rod and Close Mesh 12-inch (300 mm)
  193.             or 16-inch decking.
  194.  
  195.     J.  Use lightning pole clip No. 978 for linen shelving, clip
  196.         No. 977 for shelf and rod shelving.
  197.  
  198.     K.  Shelf Supports:
  199.         1.  Place shelf support brackets No. 164 or 166
  200.             vertically to the shelf, attach with No. 950 or 975
  201.             wall anchors.
  202.         2.  Install down clips No. 983/977 or cable clips No. 312
  203.             with 1/4 inch (6 mm) anchor on the back rod behind
  204.             every support bracket.
  205. NOTE ** Select spacing from subparagraphs below.
  206.         3.  36 inches (900 mm) o.c. maximum.
  207.         4.  24 inches (600 mm) o.c. maximum.
  208.  
  209.     L.  Attach No. 977 or 978 pole clips at same elevations as
  210.         wall clips for a given shelf; use with No. 117 or 118
  211.         poles.
  212.  
  213.     M.  Use No. 120 corner support brackets on all corner "butt"
  214.         joints.
  215.  
  216.     N.  For wall to wall installation, use lightning end bracket
  217.         No. 972 or 973; drill 1/4 inch (6 mm) holes, and secure
  218.         with No. 8 pins.
  219.  
  220.     O.  SuperSlide Component Installation:
  221.         1.  Place hang bar supports No. 5647 every 24 to 36
  222.             inches (600 to 900 mm); place express support
  223.             brackets (No. 164) adjacent to supports.
  224.         2.  Use SuperSlide end bracket No. 979 or 940 at side
  225.             wall where pole is used.
  226.         3.  Use 12 inch (300 mm) express support brackets (No.
  227.             164) for 12 inch or 16 inch (300 or 400 mm) deep
  228.             shelves.
  229.         4.  Place pole caps No. 2083 on cut ends of poles.
  230.         5.  Use pole connector No. 2075 to connect 3/4 inch (19
  231.             mm) poles; rest joints in brackets.
  232.         6.  For wall installation, use end bracket No. 979 or
  233.             980.
  234.         7.  For open end installations, use down clips No. 978,
  235.             983, or 312 (312 stud installation preferred).

  237. 3.3 CLEANING
  238.  
  239.     A.  As work proceeds, maintain premises free of unnecessary
  240.         accumulation of tools, equipment, surplus materials, and
  241.         debris related to this work.
  242.  
  243.     B.  Upon completion of installation, clean all surfaces that
  244.         have become soiled during installation.
