  104. 1.5 SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

  106.     A.  Performance Requirements:
  107.         1.  Fire Rating:  Provide UL listed Class A/Class I fire
  108.             retardant treated wood products exhibiting maximum
  109.             flame spread of 25, when tested in accordance with
  110.             ASTM E 84, NFPA 255, or UL 723, and no evidence of
  111.             significant combustion when test is extended for and
  112.             additional 20 minutes.
  113.         2.  Corrosive Properties:  Carbon steel, galvanized
  114.             steel, aluminum, copper, and red brass in contact
  115.             with fire retardant treated wood products to exhibit
  116.             maximum corrosion rates of one (1) mil (0.025 mm) per
  117.             year when tested in accordance with MIL-L-19140.

  119. 1.6 QUALITY ASSURANCE
  120.  
  121.     A.  Regulatory Requirements:  Fire retardant chemicals
  122.         registered for use as wood preservative by U. S.
  123.         Environmental Protection Agency.

  264.         fire retardant treated wood products with the following:

  277. 3.1 INSTALLATION
  278.  
  279.     A.  Fire Retardant Treated Dimension Lumber:
  280. NOTE ** Verify Section Numbers and Titles in paragraph

  282.         1.  Install in accordance with Section 06100 and Section
  283.             06200.
  284.         2.  Field-cut lumber for required lengths, drilled holes,
  285.             or joining cuts only; ripping or milling of lumber is
  286.             prohibited.
  287.         3.  Secure lumber with fasteners of galvanized steel or
  288.             other corrosion resistant material.
  289.  
  290.     B.  Fire Retardant Treated Plywood:

  293.         1.  Install in accordance with Section 06100 and Section
