  49. 1.4 SUBMITTALS

  71. 1.5 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

  73.     A.  Store materials in dry place, off the ground, where
  74.         temperature will not exceed 90 degrees F (32 degrees F).

  76.     B.  Handle material in manner that will prevent damage to
  77.         finished surfaces.  Do not install scratched or damaged
  78.         components.

  105. 2.2 MATERIALS

  107.     A.  Glass Block Support Grid:  Factory assembled, extruded
  108.         aluminum two-way T-bar grid, sized to fit glass block
  109.         with one block to a module, and hollow perimeter frame
  110.         with predrilled fastener holes.
  111.         1.  Aluminum:  ASTM B 221, 6063-T6 or 6463-T6 alloy.
  112.         2.  Finish:  As selected by Architect from manufacturer's
  113.             standard finishes.

  115.     B.  Glass Block:  Partially evacuated hollow units, 7-3/4
  116.         inches (196 mm) square by 3-1/8 inches (79 mm) thick.

  138. PART 3  EXECUTION
  139.  
  140. 3.1 EXAMINATION
  141.  
  142.     A.  Verify applicable field dimensions and adjust as
  143.         necessary to accommodate frame.
  144.  
  145.     B.  Examine curb and supporting structure and correct any
  146.         conditions that are not in accordance with manufacturer's
  147.         installation instructions.
  148.  
  149. 3.2 INSTALLATION
  150.  
  151.     A.  Install grid system and glass block according to
  152.         manufacturer's instructions.
  153.  
  154.     B.  Apply continuous sealant bead on top of curb.
  155.  
  156.     C.  Place frame on curb and press down to seat properly and
  157.         overlap flashings.  Fasten frame in place securely.
  158.  
  159.     D.  Adhere foam tape to entire perimeter of each glass block
  160.         and insert glass block into grid from exterior side so
  161.         that block is pressed against T-bar without rolling back
  162.         foam tape.
  163.  
  164.     E.  Apply sealant around exterior face of glass block
  165.         completely filling channel.  Tool sealant flush with
  166.         surface.
  167.  
  168.     F.  Apply sealant to corner caps.

  170. 3.3 CLEANING
  171.  
  172.     A.  Clean exposed surfaces of aluminum grid with clean, soft
  173.         cloth and mild hand soap using gentle rubbing action.  Do
  174.         not use abrasive or solvent type cleaners, detergents, or
  175.         paint removers.
  176.  
  177.     B.  Remove labels from glass block and clean with soft cloth
  178.         and water.
  179.  
  180. 3.4 PROTECTION
  181.  
  182.     A.  After installation, protect installed work from damage
  183.         caused by subsequent operations at project site.
