RELEASE.TXT File
For DaVinci eMAIL Version 2.51
In addition to these notes, you should read the
printed Release Notes included in the box with
your eMAIL disks and manuals. The Release Notes
contain important Technical Support tips,
documentation updates and errata, a digest of new
feature highlights, and technical supplements.
BWCC.DLL Errors in Other Programs
When you install some recent Windows applications,
including several programs recently released by
Borland International, they automatically update
the BWCC.DLL file in the Windows system directory.
They do not, however, update the copy of BWCC.DLL
that resides in the EMAIL directory. As a result,
you may see errors if you run those programs and
eMAIL simultaneously. To resolve the problem,
update the BWCC.DLL file in the EMAIL directory:
1. Exit all applications and Windows.
2. In the EMAIL directory, rename BWCC.DLL to
BWCC.OLD.
3. Copy BWCC.DLL from the Windows system
directory (for the user who reported the
problem) to the EMAIL directory.
This procedure should resolve the problem for
everyone using that installation of eMAIL.
Updating and the WELCOME.TXT File
In order to preserve any customized welcome
messages that eMAIL 2.0x administrators may have
written, the eMAIL 2.5 upgrade process
automatically overwrites its own WELCOME.TXT file
with the one the previous version used. If you
did not customize your own welcome message with
eMAIL 2.0x, however, you probably would prefer to
send new users the current version of the
greeting.
Replace your old WELCOME.TXT file with the eMAIL
2.5 version when you run SETUP.EXE but before you
actually install eMAIL 2.5. From the SETUP.EXE
program, choose the Extract File(s) option and
extract WELCOME.TXT to the EMAIL\ADMIN directory.
Allow it to overwrite the existing file. Then
proceed with the Install/Upgrade eMAIL option to
upgrade your eMAIL.
