  11.     World War II BATTLES 1.0 (WW2B 1.0) and all WW2B scenarios are

  14.     This basic game and the restricted "The Bocage Bridges" scenario, 
  15.     included in WWII100.zip are distributed as shareware.  
  16.     
  17.     Please make copies of WWII100.zip, and give to your friends or upload 
  18.     to other BBS.  Only the basic game and "The Bocage Bridges" scenario
  19.     are shareware.  All additional scenarios and the licensed version of 
  20.     the game are not shareware.

  22.     No fees can be collected for the copies of WWII100.zip which you 
  23.     give away.

  25.     Those companies who distribute shareware, on disks or CD-ROMs for a 
  26.     fee, either via mail or rack, please see the distributor note found

  34.     This file which is included in WWII100.zip, must be retained in

  38.     INSTALLATION
  39.  
  40.     WW2B 1.0 can be installed using a "setup.exe" program contained 
  41.     within the zip file or by using the Program Manager in Windows.
  42.  
  43.     You should place the WWII100.zip file in a directory of its own, and 
  44.     use PKUNZIP to unzip it.  
  45.  
  46.  
  47.     USING "SETUP.EXE" TO INSTALL WW2B 1.0
  48.  
  49.     After unzipping the WWII100.zip file, use the Program Manger in 
  50.     Windows to run the installation setup program, "setup.exe".
  51.  
  52.     From the Program Manager menu:
  53.  
  54.     1) Select FILE/RUN.
  55.     2) Select BROWSE.  Select the disk/directory where the unzipped 
  56.        contents of WWII100.zip currently reside.
  57.     3) Select "setup.exe" from the list of files extracted from 
  58.        WWII100.zip and click OK.
  59.     4) Follow the prompts provided by the setup program to move WW2B 1.0 
  60.        to another disk/directory, and to create a program item to execute it.

  63.     USING PROGRAM MANAGER TO INSTALL WW2B 1.0
  64.  
  65.     After unzipping the WWII100.zip file, use the Program Manger in 
  66.     Windows to create a program item for WW2B 1.0, which should execute 
  67.     the "WW2B.exe" program.

  69.     From the Program Manager menu:

  71.     1) Select FILE/NEW.  Accept the "Program Item" setting and click OK.
  72.     2) Enter "World War II" in the "Description" field.
  73.     3) Select BROWSE.  Select the disk/directory where the unzipped contents
  74.        of WWII100.zip currently reside.
  75.     4) Select "WW2B.exe" from the list of files extracted from WWII100.zip
  76.        and click OK.
  77.     5) Enter the complete path (disk/directory) where the unzipped contents
  78.        of WWII100.zip currently reside, in the "Working Directory" field.
  79.     6) Select CHANGE ICON, select the WW2B 1.0 icon.
  80.     7) Click OK to complete the creation of the program item.

  83.     SOUND SUPPORT
  84.  
  85.     WW2B 1.0 will provide sound support for the standard PC speaker
  86.     or for Microsoft Multimedia Audio compatible sound boards under 
  87.     Windows 3.1 or greater.

  89.     If you have Windows 3.0, you should upgrade to Windows 3.1 to
  90.     receive the best sound effects.
  91.  
  92.     If you do not receive sound effects from WW2B 1.0, and you
  93.     do have a compatible sound card, please test your configuration
  94.     using the Media Player (provided with MS Windows 3.1) and the
  95.     standard .mid and .wav files also provided with MS Windows 3.1.

  98.     SHAREWARE

  100.     This game is shareware.  A software marketing concept that allows 
  101.     you to try out a game, before you decide to purchase it.  The concept
  102.     only works if you are honest, and after evaluating the game,
  103.     register it to continue playing, or remove it from your system.

  105.     Shareware authors can only continue to provide games like this, 
  106.     to you to play and evaluate, when they receive registrations.

  108.     This version of World War II BATTLES 1.0: "The Bocage Bridges"
  109.     will ONLY play the first 25 turns of the complete 75 turn scenario.

  111.     This will give you more than enough time to evaluate the game
  112.     and determine if you would like to register it.  Our playtesting
  113.     reveals that by playing the game twice, once as the US Army and
  114.     once as the Wehrmacht, there is approximately FOUR (4) hours of
  115.     play value provided by this version of the game.

  120.     World War II BATTLES 1.0: "The Bocage Bridges", and would like

  124.     the non-restricted version of the game, capable of finishing

  141.         of Normandy.  Or as the Wehrmacht commander, find
  142.         out why the Sherman is the GI's best friend!

  146.         As the allies push inland from the beaches, a very 
  147.         important US Army General is trapped behind Wehrmacht
  148.         lines, is captured by the Wehrmacht and held prisoner.
  149.         Command the US Army units to rescue and escort the 
  150.         General safely back to your lines, or command the 
  151.         Wehrmacht units and guard this key command figure.

  153.     A Last Stand

  155.         A Wehrmacht armored counter-attack is pouring across a key
  156.         river in Normandy!  As the US Army commander, can you
  157.         hold against overwelming numbers and better equipment?
  158.         Or as the Wehrmacht commander, can you eliminate all
  159.         resistence and secure these important bridges for the
  160.         Wehrmacht to return to the beaches?

  190.     TECHNICAL SUPPORT

  192.     WW2B 1.0 is a huge Windows application, and accordingly so, places
  193.     a large demand on your system.  We recommend that you have a minimum
  194.     of 4MB of RAM, and nothing else running (just Windows 3.x) at the
  195.     time, also we recommend running WW2B 1.0 from a hard disk.

  197.     If you experience any problems with the game or scenarios, please
  198.     write down the configuration of your system, the scenario you were
  199.     playing, what you where trying to do when the problem occurred,
  200.     and a detailed description of the problem as best as you can,
  201.     and send it to the Glacier Edge Technology address.  If possible
  202.     save the game (*.svg) and mail it on a disk or E-Mail it.
