  4. XDIR is a replacement  for the DOS commands  DIR and COPY.  It  allows
  5. you to add your own comments to be displayed along with the normal DOS
  6. directory.  You won't have to remember what MPDPROG.MEM was all about.

  11. XDIR allows you to edit these  comments freely.  You can copy or  move
  12. files between  directories or  to another  disk, and  the comment text
  13. will automatically go right with it.

  15. XDIR also keeps track  of usage of all  files on your hard  disks, and
  16. records the number  of times each  file is used  and the date  of last
  17. use.  This feature is not active unless you have executed the resident
  18. module XDCOUNT.COM.

  20. XDIR has six modes: Help, Directory, Edit, Copy, Kill and Move.  These
  21. modes are selected from the command  line, e.g., XDIR /e.  XDIR has  a
  22. number  of  display  options  that  can  be selected as well.  Options
  23. include: Pick,  Sort, and  Wide.  XDIR  /? displays  a series  of help
  24. screens describing the XDIR modes.  If you can't wait to use XDIR, try

  28. Incompatibility between  XDCount and  two PC  compatible machines  has
  29. been reported.  The machines are:
  30.       Leading Edge Model D2 (80286 processor)
  31.       Columbia MPC-1600

  33. In both cases, XDCOUNT loads  properly, but the machine locks  up when
  34. the first applications program tries  to terminate.  A hard reboot  is
  35. required to gain control of the  PC.
