  7. SAFEPACK is a disk defragmenter which is designed so that the
  8. data on the disk should be immune to any interruptions to the
  9. program, whether  due to user interrupt,  machine failure, or
  10. even a power cut. It works with ANY type of DOS disk (MFM RLL
  11. IDE  SCSI Floppy  etc), and  can cope  with large  partitions
  12. >32MBytes, supporting DOS versions up  to at least MS-DOS 5.0
  13. & DR-DOS 6.0.

  15. Numerous  options allow  files and  directories to  be sorted
  16. into  almost  any  order,  and  many  other optimizations are
  17. possible, such as putting directories  in the DOS PATH at the
  18. start of the  disc, and placing EXE & COM  files at the start
  19. of  directories. System/hidden  files are  left untouched  by
  20. default, but options are provided  to refine the control over
  21. which files are moved.

  23. By default, all the free space is left as a single contiguous
  24. area, allowing a  large Windows swap file to  be created, but
  25. for more  regular use, it  is possible to  do a much  quicker
  26. defragmentation  that does  not move  files that  are already
  27. contiguous.

  29. SAFEPACK may be run in unattended mode, allowing use in batch
  30. files.

  35. Hardware Requirements : IBM  PC-compatible, any standard disk
  36. drive.
