  6. Operation   of   FormatMaster   is   relatively   simple  and
  7. straightforward.  Almost  all   operations  are  accomplished
  8. through selection of  a menu item, either via  the cursor bar
  9. and hitting ENTER or by pressing  the key of the first letter
  10. of a menu item. There are, however, some initialization steps
  11. that should be taken before attempting to format any disks.

  13. FormatMaster is menu driven and  therefore quite easy to use.
  14. The main menu contains the following selections:

  16.                    Simultaneous Format/Verify
  17.                    Format/Verify via DOS
  18.                    Format/Verify via BIOS
  19.                    Rapid Format
  20.                    720K Format
  21.                    Only Verify
  22.                    Define Drive Table
  23.                    Enter DOS
  24.                    Check Disk
  25.                    Transfer System       OFF
  26.                    Add Vol Label         OFF
  27.                    cYclic Format         OFF
  28.                    Beeps                  ON
  29.                    Verify                OFF
  30.                    Quit to DOS
  31.                    Print Registration
  32.                    @ Configure FM

  34. Menu items  are selected either  by moving the  cursor bar to
  35. the desired  item and pressing return  (MOUSE LEFT BUTTON) or
  36. by  pressing  the  key   corresponding  the  the  highlighted
  37. character. Two of the items above are toggles, e.g., they are
  38. either on or off and each  time you select one, it is toggled
  39. to the opposite setting. If "Transfer System ON" is set, then
  40. FormatMaster will invoke SYS.COM  to transfer system files to
  41. the freshly formatted disk. Make sure that COMMAND.COM is not
  42. a hidden  file. If  "Add Volume  Label ON",  then you will be
  43. prompted to enter a disk label prior to formatting any disk
