Welcome to Reading with Peter Cottontail "The Story of Mrs. Quack". This program is one of AIMS Multimedia's reading activity books. There are additional Peter Cottontail CD-ROMs as well as a new live-action animal adventure series called Reading in the Wild World.
To install the program, double click on "Mrs. Quack Installer" and follow the
on-screen instructions.
You must have 4.5MB of free disk space to install this program.
Although the programs will run with 4MB of free RAM, if you have more RAM available, the following directions will enable you to use it for a faster, smoother running program.
1) Quit all other programs to free up all of your memory except for that which the operating system requires.
2) Click on the apple on the top left of your screen to read "About This Macintosh..."
You will notice, in bold-faced type, "Largest Unused Block," and a number. Remember this number and then close this window.
3) After you have copied Reading with Peter Cottontail to your hard drive then double click on the "Peter Cottontail" folder to open it.
4) Then, click once on the "Reading with Peter Cottontail" icon to highlight it.
5) On the File menu select "Get Info" ( Command-I ) and you will notice the Memory Requirements. Highlight the preferred size number and type in a number just slightly under the "Largest Unused Block" in step 2.
6) You may then close this window and double-click the Peter icon to begin the program.
(If you still experience any sputtering of any sound files you may want to disable some of your extensions from your Control Panel Extensions Manager. )
