Section 2 (Users Guide)
General Program Use
Overview
Each Bible Window is its own separate entity. The reference bar will indicate the Bible version, location reference and, if this is the active text, the window will be a color and the inactive text window(s) will be gray. See - "How Do I...?" for information on how to manipulate your Bible text windows.
Separated from your Bible text by a dividing bar is your Note Pad. See - "How Do I...?" for how your note pad works.
Let's start at the top with the Pull-Down Menus. Our menus are designed in the same manner as most Windows based programs. When clicked upon, a menu will drop down listing your options.
Next is the Icon Tool Bar. Let's quickly touch on each icon.
New Book Window - When clicked, this will open a new Bible window.
Copy Button - This button is used to copy selected text to the clipboard.
Search Button - When clicked, this will open your search window where you can search by word, phrase, color or Words of God.
Change Font Size for Active Window - This icon will increase or decrease font size by 10 percent at a time.
Vertical Tile Button - This will tile your Bible windows vertically. The active Bible window will always tile to the left next to the tree.
Horizontal Tile Button - This will tile your Bible windows horizontally. The active Bible window will always tile to the top.
Color-Code Guide - When you click on a color, your window will move to the next available Scripture of that color.
Go To Verse - This icon button, when clicked, will open an overlay window that will let you input the specific Go To verse.
Display Bookmark - This icon will display the list of selected Bookmarks. NOTE: See Bookmark in Pull-Down Menu to create.
Foot Notes - This icon will appear only when you scroll through Bible text that has a Foot Note attached.
Map Button (go to relevant map) - When clicked, the map that is relevant to that section of text will appear.
Sync Window - The default is for the windows to move in-sync. When this button is clicked, you can scroll through each window out-of-sync.
Verse for the Day - When clicked, the Verse for the Day overlay window will appear.
Print Button - This button will print a color page of text.
Print Preview of Current Verse - When clicked, a print preview window will open so that you can see the pre-printed page.

Following are the answers to the most commonly asked questions about RainbowSoft(tm).
About the Bible Text Windows
...open a new Bible window and change the version?
Answer: Go to the New Book Window icon, click once. A new window will open on top of the others. Now go to the stack of Blue and Red Books (toggle button) in the tree, click once, choose whichever version you want the new window to be. Then re-tile your windows using the tiling icon.
...scroll through the Bible?
Answer: There are three ways to move through the Bible text. 1) Click the up or down arrow in the scroll bar on the right side of that window. 2) Use the up or down arrow keys on your keyboard. 3) Use the tree to move from verse to verse.
...use my Note Pad feature?
Answer: The Note Pad is designed so that you can write notes about each verse. As you move to the next verse a clean note pad appears. Your notes will be saved with each verse. NOTE: You can open or close the Note Pad by clicking and dragging up or down the gray bar which separates the text and note
pad.
About The Tree
...go from the Bible menu to the Main menu?
Answer: To get to the Main menu, you click on the stack of Blue and Red Books (toggle button). To go back to the Bible menu, click on the small Open Book (toggle button) located to the right.
...open a study aid?
Answer: Click on the stack of Blue and Red Books (toggle button). This opens the Main menu. Choose the aid you want and click on it. NOTE:
1) The study aid will not make its own window, but take the active windows space. 2) Most study aids have green hyper-linking verse references. When double clicked on, a Bible text window will open to that verse.
About Copy, Paste and Print
...copy text to the clipboard for printing?
Answer: There are two ways to copy text: 1) Move mouse pointer to beginning of text in Bible Text window. Click and drag (holding mouse button down), and text will highlight. Go to the copy button and click. 2) Go to Edit (pull-down menu) - Copy Range of Verses. Click and a window will open that allows you to input the range in which you wish to copy. Click OK. NOTE: You will not visually see text copied to clipboard.
...print text that is on the clipboard?
Answer: To print text copied to the clipboard, you must first open your Word Processing "WP" program. With RainbowSoft(TM) opened and on screen, go to Start and click. Go to and open your "WP" program as normal. NOTE: Look down at your Start Bar and you will see that The Rainbow Study Bible(r) is still opened, only minimized. To maximize, just click on Rainbow Study Bible button.
Once "WP" is opened and you have a new blank document on screen, go to Edit - Paste and click. NOTE: You can now manipulate text as a normal "WP" document.
...print colored text?
Answer: Text printed from your "WP" will print in black and white only. To print colored text, go to File - Print Preview to see what will be printed, and /or File - Print to print text. NOTE: At this time we cannot choose verses or set a range of verses to print. The program will print a full page of verses, starting from verse at the top of Bible Text window.
...print my Note Pad?
Answer: To print notes, use the same method of click and highlight as was used with text. Then open "WP", paste and print.
