  5. CONFIGURING SCREENWORKS
  6. The Installation program installs ScreenWorks by copying 
  7. the program files to your hard disk.  You now need run 
  8. the ScreenWorks Configuration program to select the screen 
  9. saver and wallpaper options you want.

  11. To run the ScreenWorks Configuration program, double-click 
  12. on the ScreenWorks Config icon in newly-created Cedco
  13. Calendar group.

  15. You can also run the ScreenWorks Configuration program by 
  16. clicking on the Screen Saver Setup button in the Desktop 
  17. Control Panel.

  19. You will probably want to reconfigure ScreenWorks from time 
  20. to time for variety.

  23. UNINSTALLING SCREENWORKS
  24. You can uninstall ScreenWorks and its media files by 
  25. running the ScreenWorks Uninstall program and selecting
  26. the Uninstall option.

  29. PASSWORD PROTECTION AND SECURITY
  30. Although the screen saver provides password protection, this
  31. protection can be readily bypassed by simply rebooting your
  32. PC.  You should never use the screen saver as a means of 
  33. protecting secret or confidential information.

  36. MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
  37. ScreenWorks will not run correctly if your system does 
  38. not satisfy the minimum system requirements, which are:
  39.  
  40.      DOS Version 3.3 or better
  41.      Windows Version 3.1 or better (Enhanced mode)
  42.      80386 20 MHz processor or better
  43.      4 MB memory or better
  44.      256 Color VGA or better
  45.  
  46. The Installation program automatically verifies these 
  47. requirements, so you should not have any problems (aside 
  48. from possible QuickTime problems) if Installation ran 
  49. successfully.  
  50.  
  51. If your system does not satisfy the minimum requirements, 
  52. you will need to address any problems before running the 
  53. Installation program again.  If necessary, you can check 
  54. your system by running any of the following utilities:
  55.  
  56.      Microsoft Diagnostics
  57.       -MSD.EXE in the Windows subdirectory
  58.        Symantec Norton Utilities' System Info
  59.        Central Point PC Tools System Info
  60.

  62. AUDIO SUPPORT
  63. A 16-bit audio card is recommended for audio support.  An
  64. 8-bit card may work, but may not play QuickTime videos 
  65. well.
  66.  
  67. Although ScreenWorks can run without an audio card, you 
  68. cannot hear sound effects or video sound tracks without 
  69. audio support.  You can obtain low quality audio support 
  70. by using the PC Speaker audio driver, which can be 
  71. downloaded from CompuServe.  This driver can play audio
  72. files but not video sound tracks.

  74. To obtain this file from CompuServe, type "GO MSUSER", 
  75. select the Microsoft Software Library, search for "PC 
  76. Speaker", and download the file SPEAK.EXE.

  79. MULTIPLE CD-ROM DRIVES
  80. ScreenWorks searches for media files using the CD-ROM drive 
  81. letter that you installed from.  If you have more than one 
  82. CD-ROM drive, be sure to put the ScreenWorks CD-ROM in the 
  83. drive you installed from if you want to use media files on 
  84. that CD-ROM.

  87. NORTON DESKTOP FOR WINDOWS
  88. ScreenWorks is not compatible with the Sleeper screen saver
  89. program included with Norton Desktop For Windows.

  92. TROUBLESHOOTING
  93. Virtual memory is essential for running properly in low 
  94. memory situations.  Make sure that virtual memory is 
  95. turned on in the 386 Enhanced Control Panel.
