  1. WELCOME to NIGHTCLOCK v1.10
  2. ------------------
  3. NightClock is a small program, designed for people that use their Epoc
  4. device as an alarm clock during the night, and simply want an easy way
  5. to turn the machine on and instantly have a "backlighted" glance at the
  6. time, through a big analog or digital clock.

  8. WHAT'S NEW
  9. ------------------
  10. v 1.10 * new multi-page Setup window
  11.        * new choice for a full screen digital clock
  12.        * added an option to automatically disable the Password and Owner
  13.          Information screen each time NightClock is launched (and to restore
  14.          them on exit)
  15. v 1.01 * fixed a bug when restoring default settings (screen wasn't refreshed)
  16.        * adapted the code to use external resource files for each language
  17.        * if width and height of the selected wallpaper file are smaller than 1/3
  18.          of the screen dimensions, it will be automatically tiled to fill the screen

  20. INSTALLING NIGHTCLOCK
  21. ------------------
  22.   1.  Unzip NightClock.zip and put NightClock.sis, nMPD.sis and Systinfo.sis
  23.       to any folder of your Epoc device or your PC.
  24.   2.  To install the program simply launch the three .sis files and select the
  25.       language and destination disk.
  26.   3.  NightClock should now appear in your "Extras bar".
  27.   4.  Also included in NightClock.zip is a wallpaper.mbm file to be used as
  28.       a sample (it's my bike...) for the wallpaper option of the program (copy
  29.       it to your machine and see the Help for more details on how to set it).

  31. UNINSTALLING NIGHTCLOCK
  32. ------------------
  33. If you need to uninstall NightClock, use the Add/remove option from
  34. Control Panel.
  35.  
  36. KNOWN ISSUES (PLEASE READ...)
  37. ------------------
  38.   1.  The machine Password and Owner Information screen must be switched
  39.       off for NightClock to work: you can do it manually (open the Control
  40.       Panel of your Epoc device, choose Password and select <Never> for
  41.       "Display owner information") or select the appropriate page in the
  42.       Setup window of the program (an option is available so that each time
  43.       you launch the program, it disables these features; when you exit
  44.       NightClock, it will restore them to the original settings)
  45.   2.  Note that the above restoring feature only works if you close NightClock
  46.       from within the program: if the program is closed from System (e.g.
  47.       during a backup with PsiWin), it won't restore them to their original
  48.       values.
  49.   3.  If an Alarm has been set and falls into the "Night Period", you won't
  50.       miss it: it will override the NightClock start-up display (note that if you
  51.       select the Turn Off machine function, the alarm will start to sound, then
  52.       the machine will be turned off by NightClock, and then again the alarm
  53.       will come back in a few seconds...).
  54.   4.  Remember that each time an Alarm overrides NightClock, you have
  55.       to call it to foreground and then send it to background again, otherwise
  56.       it won't work at the following switching on.
  57.   5.  Users of CronTab by Pascal Nicolas (or of any other program that
  58.       performs some tasks at each switch on) try to do some test to prevent
  59.       any conflict with NightClock: as a general rule do not select the option
  60.       of turning off the machine when hiding (as this can stop the tasks
  61.       performed by the other programs).
