  14. To upgrade from a version of Video Collection prior to version 2.3 see the
  15. Upgrade section.

  17. Installation from SIS file:
  18.  
  19. 1) Execute the video.sis file on your pc or Psion.
  20.  
  21. 2) Choose C or D drive for the installation (make sure that there is enought
  22. disk space).
  23.  
  24. 3) The program will install itself.
  25.  
  26.  
  27. Installation from ZIP file:
  28.  
  29. 1) Make sure the \System folder is shown on your Series 5 system screen. If
  30. it's not, enable it in the 'Preferences' dialogue.
  31.  
  32. 2) Using PsiWin copy the files PYTHIA.OPO, EXPORT.OPO, CABINET.OPO,
  33. PIQINFO.OPO, PIQINFO.RSC and PIQINFO.MBM to the folder \system\opl (you might
  34. have to create the folder)
  35.  
  36. 3) Go into \System\Apps on C: or D: and make a new folder called "Video"
  37.  
  38. 4) Using PsiWin, copy the following files to the new \System\Apps\Video
  39. folder:
  40.   video.app
  41.   video.aif
  42.   video.mbm
  43.   video.hlp
  44.   upg21.opo
  45.   upg22.opo
  46.  
  47. 4) Copy the files systinfo.opx and sysram1.opx in the folder \system\opx
  48.  
  49. 5) A new icon should appear on your Extras bar
  50.  
  51.  
  52. Upgrade from version prior to 2.0.2:
  53. --------
  54.  
  55. 1) Backup your old Video Cabinet files.
  56.  
  57. 2) Install the new files as described in the Installation section. Do not
  58. remove old .ini and .dbf files as they contain your settings and data.
  59.  
  60. 3) Copy the file upgvc202.opo to a folder on your Psion.
  61.  
  62. 4) Make sure that Video Cabinet is not running.
  63.  
  64. 5) Execute the upgvc202.opo.
  65.  
  66. 6) Remove the upgvc202.opo file.
  67.  
  68. Your video.dbf file is now upgraded to version 2.0.2.
  69.  
  70.  
  71. Upgrade from version prior to 2.3
  72. ----------
  73.  
  74. 1) Backup the .DBF and .INI files of all your Collection Suite applications.
  75.  
  76. 2) Perform the installation as described in the installation paragraph. Do
  77. NOT over write or remove the files with the extention .DBF or .INI (these are
  78. data and setup files).
  79.  
  80. 3) Make sure that no Collection Suite application is being run.
  81.  
  82. 4) If you are upgrading from a version prior to 2.1 execute the upg21.opo
  83. file by double tapping on it's icon.
  84.  
  85. 5) If you are upgrading from a version prior to 2.2 execute the upg22.opo
  86. file by double tapping on it's icon.
  87.  
  88. 6) Copy the CabUpg23.opo to any directory and execute it by double tapping on
  89. it's icon. The program will upgrade all your Collection Suite .DBF files.
  90.  
  91. 7) Delete the CabUpg23.opo file.
  92.  
  93. 8) All your Collection Suite applications are now upgraded to version 2.3.
  94. Note, you only need to perform the CabUpg23.opo upgrade once. You should not
  95. try to upgrade each Cabinet Suite application individually.

  98. Problems
  99. --------
  100.  
  101. 1. Read only files
  102.  
  103. Some times files become read only while being installed. None of the files
  104. should be read only. If you get any errors like the program is unable to
  105. write information to your Psion go through the program files to see if some
  106. of them are read only.
  107.  
  108. In the system-view you can open the file property window by selecting
  109. (highlighting) a file and pressing Ctrl-P. In the property window you can see
  110. and set/clear the read only checkbox. 
  111.  
  112. 2. Copying between C and D
  113.  
  114. Be very careful when you move or copy applications between the C and D
  115. drives. It seems that the Psion is not correctly updated when applicaions are
  116. copied from C to D or vice versa.
  117.  
  118. Always delete the application directory from one drive before reinstalling on
  119. the other drive.
  120.  
  121. 3. Low on battery
  122.  
  123. When starting up this program for the first time a lot of writing is done to
  124. the disk. If your machine is low on battery these writes can go wrong and
  125. turn the application files bad. This should only be an issue when running the
  126. application the first time.
  127.  
  128. 4. Not enough memory
  129.  
  130. This program needs up to 300 Kb of free memory on the C drive. If you try to
  131. run the program with less than 300 Kb of free memory on the C drive it may
  132. not behave as expected.
