  17. Installation instructions:

  19. CTIMER5.ZIP is an archive file containing two files:
  20.  
  21.    CTIMER.SIS - the Psion installation file
  22.    RDMETM5.TXT - these instructions.
  23.  
  24. Use WinZip and PsiWin (or whatever other means you normally use) to extract
  25. the files an run the Exchange.sis file to install onto your Psion.
  26.  
  27. Operation of the program should be self evident; if in doubt refer to
  28. the help file. The program has only been extensively tested on an 8Mb Psion 5
  29.  - there are almost certainly undiscovered bugs and problems - if you
  30. are first to find and report one I'll try and fix it and get a new version
  31. to you.

  34. regularly, use of the program is entirely at your own risk.

  61. Setting Duration and Warnings
  62. Set the total duration between 24:00:00 and 00:01:00
  63. in Hours, Minutes and Seconds.
  64. There is an option for audible warnings (an ascending
  65. set of tones) every 10 seconds during the last minute,
  66. and also for a final audible alarm. The sound for the
  67. alarm can be selected from the built in Fanfare, Chimes
  68. or Bell, or any other sound file you have recorded.

  72. Setting Waypoints
  73. You can set up to three intermediate waypoints.
  74. Note that you have to enter the elapsed time, not the
  75. time remaining when defining the waypoints.
  76. Set any unwanted waypoints to 00:00:00
  77. There is an option in the setup dialog to cause the
  78. countdown to automatically hold when a waypoint is
  79. reached - countine by pressing [Space]
  80. Waypoints will be marked on the screen and by an
  81. optional audible warning.
  82. If Timer is running in the background it will continue
  83. to count down and will come to the foreground when a
  84. waypoint is reached.

  87. Holding and Jumping
  88. The countdown is started by pressing the Space Bar.
  89. Once running Space can be used to toggle hold mode.
  90. If waypoints have been set Psi+W or Psi+Space will jump
  91. forward to the next waypoint.
  92. You can also jump to a specific time using PsiJ and
  93. entering either an elapsed or remaining time to jump to.
  94. Note that whilst a Menu or Dialog is displayed the count
  95. is held.
  96. Timer will continue to run in the background whilst
  97. another program is in use.
  98. Once the final time is reached and any alarm has been
  99. played, timer continues to count until a key is pressed

  101. Advancing & Retarding
  102. Using the arrow keys the time can be advanced or retarded
  103. in 10 second, 1 minute, or 10 minute intervals.
  104. [Left] / [Right]  -  +/- 10 seconds"
  105. [Up] / [Down]  -  +/- minutes"
  106. [PgUp] / [PgDn]  -  +/- 10 minutes"

  108. [End] - on to end !

  111. Restarting
  112. Pressing [Enter] will jump to the finish but carry on
  113. counting until another key is pressed.
  114. Once the end is reached pressing any key will allow you
  115. to reset the countdown details.
  116. Pressing [Tab] at any time jumps back to the start with
  117. the same setings and waits for you to press [Space] to
  118. start the countdown.
  119. Pressing [Home] (Psi+Left) will restart immediately from
  120. the begining.
  121. Pressing [Esc] at any time will jump to the Set Duration
  122. dialog for a fresh start.

  126. Preferences File
  127. Entering a valid registration code creates a file
  128. CTIMER.INI in the APP directory
  129. If CTIMER.INI is corrupted or deleted the
  130. registration details will have to be re-entered.
