AOcean computes tides and sea height using the harmonic constants method. Sea height can be automatically displayed every minute.
Accuracy is about 5 to 20 minutes in comparison with official time tables. The French coefficient (only for use in France) is calculated within

AThe marks can be used to fix a limit (example draught). This limit will give an alarm when reached in "Auto" mode or will show the reaching hours in "day" mode.
11 marks are available : 10 marks can be saved with preset values (for registered users only) an a mobile mark. You can move the mobile mark with the pen by sliding the cursor.
A short comment can be added . It will be visible in the bottom right corner.
BHeight:
Instant height with trend (rising or falling).
Tides 1 day:
Tides for a day with a graphic presentation. If a mark is greater than zero, a gray stripe is drawn above the hours line, indicating time of crossing.
Tides 1 week:
Tides for seven days without graphics.
Curve 1 week:
Graphic presentation for seven days.
Tides 1 month:
Tides for 30 days.
Saved if option is enabled.
To display the second half of the month, just touch the screen.
Memory:
Recall the last month saved (registered users). If a computation has been aborted, the previous week is kept without modification.
Spring tides:
Displays the Spring tides for one year. If the sea level is exceptionally high, a box is drawnn around its value.
cBPort:
You can go to this menu by clicking on the current port with the pen.
Selects a new port.
Date:
You can go to this menu by clicking on the current date with the pen.
Calc date. System date when starting.
Time:
Calc time for sea height. System time when starting.
Mark:
You can go to this menu by clicking on the name of the current mark with the pen.
Shows one of the 11 available limit marks. Ten prorammable marks are available plus a mobile mark.
Alarm:
In "Auto mode", enables a ringing alarm if a mark is reached within 5%. The alarm must be activated before starting "Auto" mode. (see Marks)
eDEdit marks:
You can go to this meny by clicking on the values of the active mark.
Edits limit marks.
Draught : 0 to 10 m maxi.
Clearance : -2 to 20 m maxi.
The mark will be the sum of these values.
Preferences:
These preferences are saved only after registration :
Start : Ocean can start in Height mode or in Tides for a day.
Auto-mode : enabled or disabled when starting Ocean.
Save week : allows automatic saving of a week.
Time step : amount of minutes you can move using left and right arrows in height mode.
Display French coefficient : "Yes" for French users only.
Accuracy : "6 ou 12 mn".
Configuration:
You can go to this menu by clicking on the current BP&TU with the pen.

Time displayed with : results shown with UT, UT+1, +2, etc. (to be set even if done in the Psion clock).
Units : meters or feet.
Permanent offset : adds or substracts an offset (max.
60 min.) to tides. Default : 0. A warning message is displayed when used.

This file can be edited with the "Data" application of your S5 to add or modify ports. Shareware version is provided with some ports.

AIf you don't live in France, you can disable "French coefficient" in the Preferences menu to speed up the computation.
Calc durations with a S5 MX (approximately):
tides for a day : 4 seconds
tides for a week : 15 seconds
curve for a week : 8 seconds
tides for a month : 1 mn 15 seconds
spring tides : 2 min 30 seconds
Warning : choosing the "6 min." accuracy increases the calc time for 30%.
