RMRTester is an application designed to help you learn things like vocabulary, definitions or dates.
The idea's very simple. You enter records as terms and meanings or phrases and translations. RMRTester will then display records in a random order waiting for you to guess the meanings.
By selecting Scores from the View menu RMRTester will display a summary of the number of records with each mark value and their percentage of the total.
If the automark option has been selected RMRTester will also display a summary of the changes you have made during the current session.
You can reset the session scores by selecting the menu option on the Tools menu.
Create a new file from the file menu and enter the descriptions for the terms and their meanings. You can now enter records by selecting New entry from the edit menu.
Once you've finished, the test will start automatically. You can change the settings by using the Test preferences in the Tools menu.
RMRTester allows you to save scores so that you can keep track of how well you're doing. After you view the scores (Select Current scores from the View menu) you'll be asked if you want to save to the scores.
To view the score history select Previous scores from the View menu and use the Previous and Next buttons to view the scores.
RMRTester allows you to import files from other RMRTester files, Psion Data files or delimited text files. You can also export files to either RMRTester or delimited text files.
Data and text files should be in the format:
Label1 (Text 250),
Label2 (Text 250),
Mark (Text 2),
Note (Text 250)
When you are importing Text files you should enter the character you wish RMRTester to use for as the field separator.

The options under the test preferences menu item are as follows:
Display order - determines which field is displayed first. You might find the random option useful if you're learning a language.
Wait before answer - normally this value would be left as selected so that RMRTester displays one half of the record and then waits for you to guess the answer. If you want to display the whole record on one go uncheck this option.
Record order - specifies how the records are selected.
Sequential - means that records are displayed in the order in which they are located in the file.
Random (Repeat forever) - will display records chosen at random until you decide to stop the test.
Random (Only display records once) - this option changes the order of the records in the file and then displays them in turn until the end of the file. When you reach the end the file will be shuffled again.
Random (Weighted by mark value) - This option will display records in a random order but with a preference to records with lower mark values. This is useful to help you learn the records you know less well.
Display test counters - displays a small counter in the bottom right corner of the screen showing how many records have been displayed. If you're using the Automark facility it will also display the number of records you got Correct (C), Wrong (W), Skipped (S) and the Total (T).
All records - allows you to display only certain records. If this option is left unchecked a further dialog is presented displaying where you may select the records to be used.
