Programs can be added to RMRRCG using the approriate menu options. As well as the program name you will need to specify the folder which contains the \Languages\ sub-folder. For developers, this is the folder that contains your OPL/OPP source code. For translators, it can be anywhere.
Subsequently, this folder can be amended, or the program deleted.
If an OPL or OPP file is not detected in the specified development folder the program will downgrade to translation mode and only those menu items relating to RSC file generation will appear.
The following notes explain how to setup and use the program
Initial Setup
1. Ensure your have a \Language\ folder somewhere on your computer, and put in it a sub-folder called \UK\ which should contain the UK RSS file provided by the author. This should be named using the convention <Program name>+<2-letter code>+".rss". For example RMREventUK.rss.
2. Generate a sub-folder for your language, using the Symbian 2-letter code, ie. \FR\, \GE\, \IT\, \SP\ etc and put in there your translated RSS file using the same naming convention, ie. \FR\RMREventFR.rss
3. Run RMRRCG and add the program to its database, specifying the location of the \Languages\. folder.
4. Use the 'Generate all RSC files' option to build all the resource files.
5. Use the 'Run program' option to check each version.
Editing definitions
1. Use the 'Edit RSS files' option to edit the definition.
2. Use the 'Run program' option to check each version.
RMRRCG (Resource Code Generator) is designed to act as a development 'shell' so that all the actions required to generate international versions of programs can be carried out from one place.
It allows for the production and editing of language resource files, quick checking of the program running under different languages and final preparation for release.
It has 2 modes, the development mode for program authors, which allows for full development of multiple international versions of the program, and the translation mode, which can be used by non-developers to build other language versions with little or no help from the author.
An unlimited number of programs can be produced from this one 'shell' by adding them to the system.
Program overview3
Preferences3
There are 2 options in the Preferences menu :
You can rename the \Languages\ folder if you so wish
You can decide if you wish to include the System folder in the development folder search dialog.
Other RMR Programs3
This is the full mode for the program and will be selected if an OPL or OPP file is detected in the development folder. In this case all available Menu items are displayed.
If you are new to using language resource files a detailed tutorial is contained in the ReadMe file that accompanies this program and we recommend you read that.
However, if you already have an existing program that uses RSC files the following precis should help you run it successfully.

3. Run RMRRCG and add your program to its database, specifying the location of the \Languages\ folder.
